I was driving home from work last night, running the A/C and noticed what looked like smoke coming from the vent in front of the shift lever on the column. Not much, but it was steady until I turned the A/C off. It's been raining and at first I thought it might just be the same as condensation when you exhale on a cold day, but it happened again this morning. The only other time I saw something like this was on a 1969 Mercury Marquis when the heater core developed a leak.
Does this sound like a leak in the heater core? I've only noticed it when the A/C is on a lower setting and set to fresh air, and it has only come out of the one vent by the shift lever. I guess I should plan for a dealer visit on Monday...
Thanks for any help.
