Ive got a 01 CTD with a BD Race box, air filter, and exhaust (motor mods) It smokes a little bit with the box on but I want it to SMOKE and SMOKE BAD! Im thinking about Injectors? will this do the trick? Im thinking about bd 110 X pulse injectors... will this do the job? Ive got a stock trans for now and Id like to keep it that way till spring/early summer. Lastly Id like to keep the MPG up... . It will be hard to keep my foot outa the throttle!

Thanks

Ian

Injectors for sure csevers truck smokes jet black @ an idle ... cool

Im not to educated on injector sizes Im sure someone will kick in.

super mentals should get ya smokin'

Dont forget when you go big injectors you wont be able to tow very well and you will diminsh your drivetrain component's life. If you went with 100 hp injectors on a stock transmission, I'd give you about 5 months until your transmission blows with daily "smoke-outs". Just make sure you're running an EGT guage. .

i have the bullydog box and the stage 2 injectors. and with my setup i can hide the white line if i so choose. however the clutch thinks differently. you won't be able to really use the power of the box and the injectors combined. i know i can't and i can't even do a WOT with just the injectors because the clutch starts slipping which is soon to be addressed. like others said also, if you tow at all that goes down the tubes unless you do air mods to help with the extra fuel. the list just goes on with gauges which you should have and transmission mods.

What would be the best injector size for my application? I've got all the gauges, Stage 1 AFE filter, and 5" exhaust. BD race box. BUT stock trans, though I still want to smoke and smoke hard?

I still want to smoke and smoke hard = 1st gen

for the money you'll have in your truck to make her smoke and smoke hard and not tare things up ... ... you might be able to buy a 1st gen and save some $$$ .

NEwer vehicals run more efficient burning the fuel to create POWER. with the flip of your wrist on a 1st gen you can kill bugs where ever you go... . LOL

DM

youll need the trany before the injectors it goes on and on... ... ... .

well whats is the fun in a diesel that doesnt go fast and smoke? Also just another reason to tinker on the truck. I guess its just a personal prefrence of mine.

It's even funner to use that fuel though! ;) :D

My thoughts exactly. Don't get me wrong though, I like to smoke people every once in awhile if they give me a reason to. Unless I missed it, you didn't tell us if you have an auto or manual. Either way, if you want to smoke alot they are going to have to be upgraded.

Jay- I know its hard to click on my profile to find all the stats, but just to make it easy for you its a 2001 automatic transmission 3/4 ton dodge ram cummins diesel 4x4, BD POWER race box, AFE stage 1 filter, 5" straight exhaust. The rest is stock, trans turbo etc...

Ive always wanted a CTD (cummins turbo diesel) since I got my first 89 D250 4x4 318 auto, then I bought a 95 1500 4x4 360 auto. then had a girl pull out infront of me on the 3rd of july and totaled the 95 ram. So I got a excellent deal on a 01 CTD! and Ive always thought that a diesel that smokes is just awesome even as a young buck. Well now its my chance to have that truck that I wanted to have... a diesel that smokes. Yeah with the box on it smokes OK but not as much as Id like it to. Anyways I didnt ask of opinions on why I wanted the truck to smoke I asked for opinions on "how to smoke" ;)

DM- your truck is bad***** Gen 1's around here (lower central michigan) are hard to come by! they are out there but the darn old farmers wont let them go!! My bud just bought a 98 12V (pics under "just stacked") and his smokes pretty good so of course I have to out do him! (slight reason for wanting more smoke)

"""""-------DM- your truck is bad*****-------"""""

Thanks for the props ..... I THINK :) ... ... ..... I try Im pretty sure Ill break the $50,000 mark by july '05

Its sad but true but for smoke like you want on a 2nd gen you have a couple choises... ... ... . Take some boost elbows off or bust the fins out of your turbo you'll smoke then ... ..... wont go far but you'll smoke :-laf :-laf

but seiously I want more smoke also ... . I think its cool but ONLY WHEN YOU CAN CONTROL IT thats very important if you go mental on your injectors you'll just smoke like mad and you'll be driving every where real slow trying not to get pulled over for polution ... ... There is a balance point between enough and too much Im pretty sure thats the point you need to find and always remember if you cant control it its not fun.

If you get injectors dont get the 60HPones you wont even hardly be able to notice 60HP and not sure how much more smoke you'll get with them

Id go the next step up and you should have noticeable HP and smoke gains and it'll be smoke you can control with the sub adjustments on the EDGE COMP. thats my plan anyway

GOOD LUCK

DM

BTW;;;before injectors you'll need trany upgrades I personally dont think you need to go as far as DTT OR ATS just get a Torque converter ,,,valve body and shift kit about $1550 installed I think you'd be plunty safe with just this done to the trany... . thats my plan anyway

disclaimer some facts above mostly opinions dont take it to the bank just guide lines

:)

DONT BUST THE FINS OUT I WAS KIDDIN :D

I may not be extremely educated on the mechanics of the CTD but I know my way around a wrench and motor. The Fin thing... . yeah that woudlnt be good at all!! haha. I think the TQ and VB is the route im goign to go. and maybe a torque lockup or something along that line. Ive just got to make it thru the winter plowing snow and coem spring Ill tear the trans out. Also the 110 hp injectors are in the works. It will be tempting not to put them in now! I meant "your truck is bad" as in a good way.
