Smoked Clutch

I am looking for help on my 2001 6speed. Is there an aftermarket (center force) clutch? The dealer tells me parts are different, he can't even get a factory clutch.

I am now at a second dealership after towing halfway across New Mexico.

I have a different turbo housing, so I have to be careful which dealership it goes to.

How did you smoke the clutch? Do you have horsepower upgrades? Which type of upgrades did you perform?

Junebug--If you have the time and the money--order a McLeod twin-disc from Summit Racing and put it in. Except for normal maintenance, that'll be the end of your clutch woes. Ron #ad

Is there an aftermarket clutch available for the ETH now? Last I checked there was none.

I also learned that some of the clutches for the ETH/DEE where not assembled/installed properly and had less contact surface then the clutch in the 5 spd.

I have the Stage 3's and HX-40 and my clutch holds real solid.

They tell me now that I need a Fly-wheel. I hate to say it, my powerjoke always got fixed fast and withstood alot more. My 99 5-speed 24-valve never had any problems. Now this "HIGH-OUTPUT" is low on expectations.

Don't feel too bad, Junebug, talked to a guy the other day with a fairly new F450 Superdoody. Seems Ford redesigned their flywheel, and he's been through SIX #ad
clutches, an input shaft, a transmition, numerous pilot bearings, etc. . I thought maybe it was just because the guy pulls pretty heavy, but then he told me the Ford service manager told him he's had several guys passing through with the same set-up that have been through 6 or so clutches. I guess whenever something is new, we get to be the guenie (sp?) pigs #ad

The boys working on my truck will be parsing all the VINs they've sold on the sixers at my dealership. Seems the slave cylinder is defective and needs to be replaced.
