Dodge V-10

The ultimate garage purchase (for me!)

We haven't seen as much as 1/4" total yet this winter at my house. I swept the dust off the driveway once so far. My sister in Albany, NY has been getting hammered, though. Go figure.

Been runnin' a John Deere 826 for about 10 years now. 8 HP/2 stage. Pretty good snow mover. It has a Tecumseh engine on it. It runs, but it ain't no Honda! I put a 110 VAC starter on it which is really, really nice when it's 0 degrees out here on the prairie.

The only thing I really don't care for on it is the wheel drive engage control handle. After about 30-40 minutes of holding that handle with your left hand clamped to the handlebar, your hand starts to complain a little. They've undoubtedly changed the design by now.

JD makes good stuff.

Best one I ever had was one of those little old toros. I think it was only 18 or 20" wide and not much hp, but it was light enough to use like a shovel. Great for taking the tops off snowbanks that get too tall to throw over. Small enough to toss in the bed or take up on the roof.
