I got in a wreck the other day (hit by a construction truck, F550) and the company paid me $6k to take care of it. Well the damage was only to the bed and I have already got a replacement for $200, so I got some upgrade $$$.

I already have a fuel gauge and trans temp gauge. I am going to order EGT and boost gauges, a FASS pusher pump with the filter/separator with a Vulcan performance big line kit, and a Smarty programmer.

I would like to get a larger exhaust too, but not sure.

I use my truck for a daily driver and pull my Jeep/trailer around a couple hundred miles a month. What I am looking for is more performance (shooting for ~25% to 50% more power with option for more in the future). Everything is stock, even the auto trans so I know I will have to keep my foot out of it to keep it alive till I upgrade it or replace it with a manual.

So what do you think? Is there something I am forgetting? Would you change or do it different? Should I be getting something else first or at the same time? And lastly, besides Geno’s (great source by the way) is there another place I should be looking for a good deal for these things?

Keep in mind that if you want gauges and more power too, that a lot of the boxes out there ofter both in one package. This could be cheaper in the long run, not buying gauges now and later adding a box that also has that capability. Randy

The Smarty doesn’t offer that option and from what I have read it is a good tuner to go with. Also I already have a 3 gauge pod and the fuel and trans gauges so I just need to add the EGT and boost.

id say if ya wanna mod big spend it on the trans

I agree with both here. ;)

A juice with att or Quad ADR w/pulse offer WAY more power than a smarty and have gauges and defuel protection settings built in.

ANY power increase will kill the stock auto. a VB & convertor is the min to make it last.

You appear to be after more umph. I haven't gone there... YET. The best money I have spent on mine to date is the free-spin hub conversion. Takes out front drive line vibrations plus all wear and tear is off your front axle, u-joints, seals, etc.

Food for thought before your last $1,000 bucks is gone!!

Q: Does the wife know about the extra cash in your pocket?

A: What cash?;)

I just ordered a Smarty. got it for 650 free shipping.

From Geno's, I also went ahead and ordered a FASS 95 GPM pump with the water separator and filter. and a big line kit.

I also got a whole new replacement dash.

And I got a boost/EGT combo gauge. I have a three pod on the A pillar and already have fuel lift pump pressure and trans temp so this will fill it and give me what I need to know.

Be careful, power is a Pandora's box. Once you open it up, you can't put it back. :-laf:-laf

i am familiar with the concept… I have an ’03 Rubicon Jeep that I got new with 4 miles on it. Now it only has ~30k, but it is built to the point I cant drive it on the street anymore (full hydro double triangulated 4 linked unimog 404 portal axles on 40” IROKs), not much Jeep left to it:D
