Competition Engine set up for nos?

i was gonna run a h2e but according to the talk its not very streetable. makes sense thats alotta turbo so what i am looking for is the h2e price and performance for the street. you guys have any sugestions? its a 12 valve with 370's i ran the hx40 into the ground in a month. worthless turbo for what i paid for it... ... im realizing that there a plenty of turbos in the 500 range that can put down some great numbers. .

i dont mind opinions unless you think i should go buy a ford :D

pm me if you got something for sale at 500 or less. preferably less

I would be very surprised if you can find a streetable charger that big for $500. You might find something for around $1000.

what about the s400 is it too big?

that or a t67

i had a cfm chart but alot of the schwitzer and airesearch stuff wasnt on there so i dont know the cfm ratings to be able to compare them to the ones i am familiar with

...

Welcome to the big time playa. . pay to play. Your not gonna find anything under $1000 worth a darn for what you want it for. . especially with 22* of timing. That S400 is gonna be too big for your application. I might have something for you... PM me.

ok the real story

i already have the ht3b and the hx35 for my twins setup but the hx35 is on the truck cause i roasted the 40 that i had..... so im really looking for a turbo to run while i am building my twins setup. the 35 needs to come off because i cant get out of the valley in fifth gear it's way too hot. i can get an h2e for 200-300 so i thought yeah that would be a good way to go but lo and behold its too laggy for street use. so where to now? back to the 1000 dollar range?everytime i turn around prices go up... ... i better quit turning aroound :D

any thought on a t70 cmon guys im fishing here lets play the guinea pig here. everyone runs the same stuff... ... cause it works i know but what if? t70's are cheap bigger than the 67... . smaller than the 76?should be close to the cfm rating ..... and why is it so hard to find cfm ratings and maps for turbos?

u dont wont to run the T70 with a a/r no bigger than 68 thats about 12+ cm... I got one and have been running it for 2 monthes made a few pulls also

max boost was mid 30s and it wouldnt light unitl 2000+ rpm this was with a 81 a/r housing,,, the turbo needs to make about 45 to 50lbs if u want to make good power and if the 68 dont bring in the boost sooner u need to turn about 4000 rpm or more

Iv got a 68 a/r housing now but the engine is getting a rebuild so ill wait and c what happens

also i wouldnt like to spin it to 50lbs much dont think the shaft can hold it

want a cheap turbo get a MPGT45 has a 68+ wheel and a turbine wheel of 77 (thats were yr power will come from) but yr a/r is 1. 01

depending on the style also. depending on the bearing style. if it is a ball bearing tubo expect great mid range and lot more bottom end while maintaining the top end. with ceramic bearings yo usacrifice a lot of bottom end. this is a gas dyno but the result is the same. its bsically comparing a ball bearing to ceramic bearing turbo. you can obviously see the difference.

true good point , but look at the RPM range its starts @ 2. 6 ,,,diesels (hot street) are done @ 3000 to 3500 + yes it will help but for the price is it worth it ?? now a BBT70 is somewere around 1500 to 1700 $$ depends close to a SPS66 now if u have the money yeah y not , but if u want cheap then nope .

bbt70?

whats the difference between a bbt70 and a t70? :( as far as i can tell a t70 is what they run on high hp supras and the supra stuff runs great on our trucks

Seems like some peoplejsut don`t get it!! Diesel turbos for diesels and gasser turbos for gassers. It is not, one fits all. !!

ummm

thanks for that captain science but last time i checked a turbo just compressed air and the point was to find the optimum compressor for each setup..... and i have seen alot of supras running diesel turbos and putting down some great numbers but then again what do i know your all the experts i was just asking for some advice... or did i ask for your critcism. hmmm advice thats right

A turbo is a turbo!!! No real big deal there. I agree, application is "not specific" The Compressor is specific!!

Funny thing, the more I dug for info, and the closer I cam to the setup I am building.

AND, the closer I came to Toyota Supra stuff!!!!

Seriously, a 3. 0L 24V gasser engine making 1000HP at 7000 RPM is very similar in air demand to a 6L 24v Diesel at 3200 RPM making a useable 500 HP.

While we poke fun at the import crowd, they know HEAPS more about turbocharging than any Diesel Turbo shop I know!! Including II !!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally found some HX35 and HX40 compressor maps... on a Honda Tech website!!!

The Honda guys know more about the OEM stuff our trucks came with than the vendors that sell HX35/40 hybrids!!!

lol
