That day in November 40 years ago? I was in 7th grade. Our school was having a function in the gym and everyone was there when the principle came in and announced that Kennedy had been asassinated.

While I have seen plenty on the Kennedy's, I watched the History Channel special last night and learned a bit more. Excepting Vietnam, I always admired JFK.

Well let me see, if I do the math correctly, that means I was negative 21 years old. So clearly I don't remember this sad event in history. I think most of my American History classes have covered it however. So, according to the History Channel, did Oswald shoot him?

I remember someone comming into our classroom and telling us that Kennedy was shot. I guess I was in the 7th grade. My dad was in the hosipital for back surgery (he still has pain from it).

I was sitting in my Law Office, when a secretary threw my door open without knocking and blurted out the sad news.

I was in 5th grade and was actually at home sick with the flu, we had just moved back to the States from Germany a year earlier , (Dad was USAF )and still did not have a TV, so I was listenning to the radio. Mom had gone down to the local pharmacy to get some meds, it was cold and rainning outside. As soon as Mom got home, we went next door and watched everything on the neighbors TV.

remember it as if it was yesterday... ... ...

The biography on JFK's political achievements did imply that. However, they are running who dunnit's all week. I had a long day yesterday so I put on American Chopper for background noise while I checked my email and the TDR site. Maybe I will catch some tonight.

Japan

I was stationed at Itazuke Air Force Base on Kyushu Japan. We got woke up about 4am put into formation and given the bad news. We were on alert for several weeks after. I was from Mass. at the time and we all loved JFK it was a very sad time.

I clearly remember that day. I was in grade school walking up the stair way with a friend when I saw one of the female teachers crying in the hallway with another teacher. That's when we heard that the President had been shot

I was----I done forgot, think I was on the couch playing sick and not having to go to school that day. :) Gave me chills when I heard about it.

I was in 9th grade, was in a state of shcok like everyone else. my best bud's birthday is the same day.

I have the original Des Monies Iowa Register and Tribune newspapers of the whole sequence of events. .

I was in third grade math class. The Principal announced it over the intercom. Man the whole school went quiet. It was eerie.

I was in seventh grade gym class. I still remember how quiet and strange we all got. Soon after the announcement the buses came and hauled us all home. It was the first and last quiet ride I ever had on a school bus.

We didn't have TV when I was growing up. We were allowed to go to the neighbors to watch all the news coverage for almost a week. I still find it all fascinating and hard to believe.

Brian, I'm sure Paul Teutul, Sr. is gonna LOVE being called background noise. :D :D :p HeeHee
I had not even thought about what I said but now that you mention it, the Teutul's were going at it pretty good throughout the show. It was the one with the old school and the Commanche theme bikes. Vinnie kept things together.

Just kidding you, Brian. :D But I sure would love to have an OCC scoot built and signed by Vinnie. Rather have one from him, than Jesse James or anyone else. Maybe someday... .

I'm 4 days younger than JFK, Jr. he was born the 23rd, I was born the 27th. My mom has a photo album from back then, that was widely published, the photos of John Jr. saluting his dad's casket were chilling and sad to me.....

It is not hard to understand why so many people felt a personnal loss when JFK, Jr. died as he did.

If you have ever seen the show's about Joe Kennedy, you know what tough unscrupulous man he was. It is not hard to buy into the idea that he cursed his family.
