I've decided to change out the factory lift pump for an Air Dog. Anyone got suggestions for where to buy? Who gives good service, etc?

I got mine from Extream Diesel Performance via a link here on TDR. It came with one wrong connector and Pure Flow (Makers of the Air Dog) over nighted the right fiitting. You can also order it directly from Pure Flow. Ron Schieferdecker 877-463-4373 Phone -- email address removed -- will be glad to take your order.

Thanks for the responses... . but that's it? Three sources?

I guess I'll buy it from Pure Flow. Something about dealing with the manufacturer.

I got mine directly from Pure Flow the Air Dog manufacturer. No problems at all. I even read recently a trick to get the stock quick-connect fitting off easily. (Well after I spent ~3-4 hours to get it off). Use a zip tie.
I had all other needed parts in the box. It was also shipped in a very well-packed box. It would have survived most abuse without any problems to the pump.
I love my Air Dog, the most peace of mind I have had since finding out about the dreaded lift pump issue.
The absolute best mod I have done. Hope this helps.

KKohagen,

What did you use the zip tie for? I am getting ready to install my Air Dog and I dread trying to get the fuel line off the tank

lowboy,

If you google Air Dog you can find many suppliers. Also Pure Flow will send you a list of dealers in your area if you ask. Most all have the same price but will differ on shipping costs (some ship free) and if you buy it localy you end up with sales tax.

The zip tie is used to remove the quick connect fittings on the fuel lines at the tank when removing the stock lines. Unless you are pulling the bed off for the install, it's a tight squeeze trying to fit your hands in there to remove the lines and the zip ties make it much easier.

Pulling bed off makes life a lot easier, 6 bolts and a grounding strap, 2 people can pick up the back and slide it on top of the bumper, 4 people can pick up the whole thing and move it of to the side and make the install a breeze, also a good time to pull fuel sender for a good cleaning and inspection, maybe even a tank cleaning. Also a good time to take care of any rust issues on frame bed. Couple of guy's, beer, take the bed of, nice easy 6 hour project. don't kink any of the hoses:), get some more ty-raps

Humm. Sounds like I need to lift the bed for the easiest installation. Ok, that's do-able.

And I'm assuming that the instructions with the pump are clear?

get the airdog 100 if you are going to be under 600hp. it is a less involved install. Check out the link in my sig. give them a call for airdog

Pureflow

I got mine straight from PFT and they were GREAT to work with. If you have any questions, they are very patient and do not talk down at you. I was trying to find an easy way to tap the fuel pressure gauge and he told me to use one of the cast 90* fittings at the pump and drill and tap it. It worked great. After 3 lift pumps, I agree this was the best mod I did. It is absolutely silent - I have to look at the gauge to know its running. They also have a lifetime warranty though I haven't heard of any going bad. Make sure to lube the hoses and push fittings. They go on much easier - almost impossible without. Great product - Great company!

Instructions for the install are very good, comes with everything you need, exept for maybee some more ty-wraps, yep, lube those fittings, makes life a lot easier. If you decide to keep factory filter/fuelheater might need some more fittings to replace the hose between filter and VP44
