Geno's Garage - "got diesel?" Contest (Ends: June 15, 2010)

This Ain't No Show 'n Shine BD Giveaway (Ends: September 30, 2010)

Reasons I should win the cluch are small (right now very small), other than I joined the TDR after I bought my 04 3500 with aspirations to build up the truck to a towing machine for my 5er. Since then (a few months ago) I have had to replace the stock exhaust and cooling system and the day after I bought the truck I found out we have a little one on the way, I guess the modifications will have to wait until after college. Any help will get me to my goals, and my friends say that the South Bend is the best out there, one put his in a few weeks ago, I like the way if drives.....

I should get the new clutch because I have three daughters and a 15 year old 12 valve whose clutch makes more chatter than all three of my daughters combined!!!

There once was a man from Nantucket,
The Cummins was homeless, he said "Truck it!"
As he sat in his lodge,
The mighty Cummins was thrown in his Dodge
All turned out well in the end
'cause the clutch used was a South Bend!

My clutch is starting to slip and creating heat which in the process is adding to the so called global warming. Help me save the world!:-laf

I would like to win the new clutch so I can replace the 134k + mile stocker in my 03 for safety. A SBC would make pulling the passes this October hunting trip with a horse trailer a bunch safer than when I did it this summer with the clutch slippin'.

Hello,

My name is Jesse Frederick and I'm just a small town farm boy from wisconsin and I would love to win a south bend dual disc clutch for my 2003 dodge ram 2500 with a 6 speed transmission. I would like to win the clutch because I don't know how much more abuse my stock clutch will take with all the heavy pulling I do with it around the farm. I pull everything from piled full forage boxes to gravity boxes full of grain to our triple axle gooseneck trailer loaded down with hay bales. It would be a great honor to win this clutch and would be very much appreciated because with the way the milk prices are I won't be about to afford a nice clutch like a south bend for a long time. Thank you for reading.

Jesse Frederick

I'm actually happy just to have a chance in this contest.

Thank you Southbend and TDR!

My factory clutch is on it's way out. I havent been able to work since 04. I have a hard time keeping fuel in my tank even though I seldom drive it much anymore, but I love my truck.

Thanks.

Fantasy Double disk install

Why me? I am a former Diesel drag racer, MI plate DZLDRAG. My 2001 ram got me hooked, then the 04 was for drag racing in DHRA. That was a few years ago. Sold it all, Divorced, and could not live without a cummings.

I made it 6 weeks the first time (spring 06) as I quit driving a Dodge cold turkey and then bought a 97 12 valve. Ended up selling it to ex-wife to settle some debt 2 months later. This time I made it 8 weeks cummins-less. I found a truck in Cody, WY and bought it without ever hearing it run. I bought plane tickets and flew out to Cody from Michigan Friday night and drove it home that weekend, and to work on Monday (July 06).

This 1999 Cummins 5 speed is my first stick shift truck, I have had it for four years now and have put less than 20k on the odometer, and don't even drive it in the Michigan salt season. I love this truck to death. At 118k miles it is all stock except for the Airdog fuel pump due to lift pump/VP-44 failure the year I got it. Truck sat for six months until I could perform the install myself and bring her back to life. Then added an Edge Attitude for fueling fun.

I do not ever slip the stock clutch (well once when I took off in 3rd on pavement), but at 118k miles on it, I can't help but fantisize about a new clutch. I often wake up in a cold sweat dreaming about the easy drive down to Mishawaka, IN for a dual clutch install by the three brothers at South Bend Clutch. I will gladly pay for the labor and maybe and upgrade to include a gear vendors, as I am a gear short with the 5 speed.

This is my story and I'm sticking to it, my best freinds and wifes (past and present) can attest to these facts. I talk about getting a new clutch every day... ... .

Then I can add the squirters and huffer to make some serious power with this new clutch.

Desperately desiring a QUIET Dual Disc device...

As the duly designated driver for my dear daughter Delilah, I was driving my Dodge Diesel Dually, which Delilah had dubbed Daisy, down to Dunkin' Donuts to buy a dozen delectable deep-fried delights to devour after dinner. Drawing near the Dunkin' Donuts driveway, I deftly double-clutched to downshift and decelerate, but as Daisy desisted at the drive-up, I was so distracted by the deliciously depicted digitized display that I disregarded disengaging Daisy's (Designation deleted) Dual Disc device. My Dodge Diesel disseminated such a deafening din from the driveline that the delicate disposition of the desultory maitre d' of the decadent donut depot was dreadfully displeased by the disturbing discord and he declined to deal with my donut directive, dramatically demanding that I douse the decibels by disconnecting the key. In dutiful defense of drive-up diplomacy, I might well have deferred to his directions, but did decide to decline his demand due to Daisy's dual batteries being drastically discharged and the distinct possibility that we would be disastrously doomed to lay dormant and disabled at the drive-up, delaying and daunting the dozens of dilatory denizens endeavoring to derive delightful delectation at this Dunkin' Donuts. Thus definitely disinclined to discontinue Daisy's detonations, I drove down the driveway devoid of donuts, but my daughter's decorous demeanor had departed and she was not only disappointed and dismayed, but also disgruntled, so much so indeed, that Delilah discourteously disclaimed her displeasure with Daisy's disorderly disruption of our donut diversion and dourly disclosed her disapproval at the desultory denial of her dietary desires. However, I myself did not declare despair at being denied dessert, because I began to delicately desiderate that the detailed description of this distracting digression might divinely do its part to directly displace Daisy's disquieting dual disc clutch with the discrete dignity, dynamic dexterity and doubtless dependability of the distinctively designed, deftly developed, and decidedly silent Dual Disc Clutch that SBC has recently and decently donated to be delivered at the discerning desire of the distinguished directors of TDR.

I think it should go to tkerrigan for the fact that he sounds like he deserves it more than others. Everyone else has 50 mods, that's why your is going, he just trying to enjoy life in his cummins and thats what its all about. Hell, my clutch is starting to fail at 69,500 and I baby it. I got a lifetime of work to buy me one. I wish you the best of luck Mr. Kerrigan.

My main wish is to had a South Bend installed a couple weeks ago when my stock clutch let go while on vacation. It let a spring go and I was dead in the water, and had to have a dealer that was close by install one of the Ram type stockers.

I would love to upgrade to the South Bend so I could ADD more horses to the engine and move my trailer more effectively.

As a TDR junkie, and Cummins abuser, the stock dual mass clutch is a loser.

With fifth wheel in tow, and kids seated neatly by row, :-{}:-{}that slipping has just got to go.

With my 2006, and mild power assist, I can't use the torques mighty twist. #@$%!

Because fear of failing, the weak link in my trailing, that clutch that just can't hold my full wailing. :{

As we make the first pass, I can't give it full gas, (diesel) 'cause the smell of burned clutch ranks quite fast.

And next time my wife, is asked regardless of how nice, to get out and help push on the camper.

I might as well pack, and take my things back, and make my way home in a scamper.

So South Bend clutch could be responsible for much, such as saving a marriage from disaster. :-laf

With no worry of clutch failure, and no wife pushing the trailer, our trips will go safe and much faster.

So I hope a call from Peter, the South Bend clutch leader, will give me that shiny new clutch.

And my towing endeavors will now be something treasured that I'll look forward to oh so much. Oo.

There once was a guy from Missouri,
Who wanted to tow heavy, uphill without worry.
He bought a Smarty and gained plenty of power,
But when he applied it things went sour.
The Cummins was rearin’ to go but the clutch said “Oh no!”
So he bought a Double Disk Clutch from South Bend
And that proved to be the end
Of his slippery clutch, thank you very much.

Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!

Have a 2007 dually and the stuck dual mass clutch started slipping soon after I bought the truck. It's a used truck, it only had 20K miles on it when I got it, it's at 36K miles now. Love the truck, need a new clutch though! I've been babying the OEM clutch and driving like an old person. I've been researching the clutches and will be buying a south bend clutch when the finances permit it.

thanks!
