OK guys do you want a clutch that will hold more than 420 real dynoed HP and 900 ft lbs of torque and drive like stock? If so South Bend clutch has it and it is as smooth as stock, it is the MU0090 con o. This clutch has been rumored to hold 600 + HP but I can tell you it will hold more than 420 on an 8% grade while towing a CGVW of over 23k and stabbing the throttle to over 40 lbs of boost a 55 mph with NO SLIPPAGE at all. Sorry it took so long to post the results of our clutch journey, I know some of you have been waiting a while but this clutch was worth the wait trust me. We chased our tails around a while trying to build the perfect clutch and little did we know Peter at South Bend had it allready figured out all along he just didn't know it's limits were so high. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask I'm sure between Peter and I we can set you straight. Thanks for all you help Peter this is an AWESOME clutch.

Blair,

Glad to hear about the SouthBend Clutch results. I am still testing the 2001 Con fe. ;) It will also hold over 400+HP

How's your R&D for some Quick release Bell housing bolts going?:p :p :p

To all that reads this post.

The credit sould not be directed at me but to someone that has done something that not to many people would do. And I would like to stress that this was done with the sole concern of his fellow Dodge Turbo Diesel Owners. Folks, this person did not only install (for the purpose of R&D for all of you) 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 clutches from us to find the best clutch to fit the needs that all of you requested. This person not only did all of this on his own time but he did this without asking for ANYTHING!!!!!!!! Through all of this testing I was starting to be frustrated and embarrased, wondering if I could get it right. Was he being to critical or did I just not have the ability? I was worried about his patience and he was worried about mine. I did not want to give up and he demanded perfection. Folks this persons name is--------

Blair Pine

When it comes to people like this, clutch sales are just not that important. I would like to ask you to take the time to give Blair Pine a private or open THANKYOU for his work, and if not for his work, then to say (if you have had the pleasure to meet him and his family) only good things should happen to you, becouse people like you, just plain deserve it!!!!!

Blair and family, ANYTHING that you need from me or anyone that you have helped, just ask. It is time for you to get something in return. :)

BP is nice

Blair thanks for going the extra mile for the cause.

Even us auto impared guys thank you for you efforts, because we love those smoke shows and 11 second 1/4 miles times and the awesome sled pulls (thanks Steve ;))

I look forward to seeing you again north of the border ;)

And Peter hats off to you to for producing the products for the

HP hungry Members :)

It's truly refreshing to see something like this... Wow, Blair, FOUR clutch changes! Really, really cool that you and Peter could work together to benefit us all, as well as yourselves. No surprise there, though, the two of you have mighty fine reputations ... .

Peter, sure was nice to meet you in Muncie, and thanks for answering my questions about throwout bearings/bushings... .

Blair,

Thanks for bringing my attention to this thread. It was great meeting you at BD last April.

I want to personally thank you for your efforts in the search for the perfect high HP clutch. As you know I could not wait for the R&D of this clutch and I purchased the MU 0087 con B. Since I put this clutch in, it has been great. After it was broken in I have had very little chatter. Since I put the new slave cylinder on this clutch is much more user friendly. The peddle pressure is less than stock and also helps with the release of the clutch for even less chatter. Rarely do I get any chatter at all now.

Peter,

Thank you for your continued R&D for us HP hunger Bombers! I have no complaints only praise for you, your customer service and your products.

Haven't been on the Dyno since the New HX-40, EZ or the South Bend Clutch have been installed. I should be pushing 450+! And no slippage at all!

Thanks to both of you!

It's guys like you that make this board the BEST!!

Thanks guys.

Eric

PS BPine, seems like youre an expert at cluch changes, got any pointers?

I've done em before, but only on gassers, and 2 wd vehicles.

patriot the job is pretty straight foward other than the cross member, on mine all you have to do is push it straight up then rotate the bottom to the rear and it slides right out. On others it is easyier to use a porta power to spread the fram rails a little to get it out. Hope this helps. ;)

Just a little update on the clutch, it still works perfectly I have about 2k on it so far and much in the mountains and I can't seem to slip it or make it even want to. I guess I need more power!!!

clutch

Thanks for the R&D on the clutch. I would like to know where to obtain the high strength VELCRO fasteners which allow for quick changes. :D :D :D

My thanks also to both Peter and Blair!!!

Howdy all,

I have the Con FE clutch for the ETH in my truck, highly recommended by Blair and I talked to Peter on the phone for a bit before finally making my decision. I must say, so far, I am absolutely 100% satisfied with the clutch, and see no reason to believe it will ever change. I currently have nothing to tow, so I can only say what it's like from a pure HP standpoint. Since I haven't dynoed Godzilla, I can only speculate that I'm between 350 and 400 rear wheel HP, but it has been great so far.

I must also say that Blair didn't have time to install my clutch, but he recommended a fantastic shop in San Jose - Dan's Transmissions in San Jose. Those are great guys and did a tremendous job on my clutch.

I definitely cast my vote for Peter/ South Bend, Blair and Dan's Transmissions.
