It's official. This is the start of a new chapter, the South Carolina TDR chapter is located just west of Florence SC, I20 at Exit 131. Our first meeting will be September 22nd with a Dyno day by David Dunbar. Please see the attached flyer for details.

If anyone would like to assist with the Dyno day, please contact me.

Please continue using this thread for our general discussion.

JD Green 1st Gen.

I was up at the Truck and Jeep Fest at Canfield OH this weekend, lots of 4X4's of all descriptions, Rock Crawlers, and lots of what was that? 6 Monster Trucks, mud bog, burnout competition and lots of gotta have its. The 1st Gen was built on a frame of left over bridge beams, all welded, no suspension except for the air in the tires. Lots of Diesels cruising around, even got to test drive a D-Max with a bit of a clutch release system problem. Got to show off our new G56 solid F/W system too.

I'll Try To Round up some guys from the Lowcountry, We have 3 trucks now and I'll try to get a few more.

It's always good to see David and the crew.

John

I have a few more people with me. I told them to give you a call. I talked to Tracy the other day and I know he is going. Got some friends (won't say any names) with a ford and a chevy that will be there. I told them they could just stand over by my truck after they parked!!!

Gary,

This ol' Tennessee boy plans on coming. I want a run on that dyno. Never been on one before with my truck.

Anthony

Sorry, I gave the computer a rest this weekend.

John,

Bring the friends, we have space for a lot of trucks.

480Ruger,

We need some mix in the crowd, makes for good fun, see who eats crow and who serves it up.

Anthony,

I hope some more Mid-TN guys can make the trip also, all we need is good weather.

So far we have a local D-Max, and a husband/wife (?) team signed up with his and hers Ford's, also we have a TDR member coming in with a 1st Gen with what he describes as a "duplex transmission" sounded like a three speed on the back of a four speed, got to get a picture of that truck.

We also have a good list of CTD's signed up.

If you haven't RSVP yet, please do so as early as possible, we continue to make plans here, we plan on giving everyone a video of the entire day's dyno runs.

Gary

Hopefully I'll be able to get down there, and we'll have at least one representative of the "J" in "CJD" - a '05 Jeep Liberty CRD.

If this little Italian engine had another two cylinders, I'd swear it was a baby Cummins. Even sounds like one at idle now that it has an Aeroturbine 2525 muffler on it.

Couple of weeks ago, gent out in CO dynoed his - all stock except for having the EGR disabled. With Overdrive locked out and in 3rd gear TC lockup, he averaged 160 HP and 340 ft/lbs at the rear wheels, both peaking at 2300 rpm. Not bad for a 2. 8 L four banger, considering DC rated them 160 HP@ 3400 and 295 ft/lbs@ 1800 at the crank.

With some of the items I've put on mine - Suncoast TC, Transgo shift kit, 68RE transmission oil pump, lift pump, fuel cooler, etc - should be interesting to see what it can do. It'll be nice to talk with other diesel owners as well, get some ideas on how to further improve this beast.

Quick Update.

We had a meeting today, we have the food plans, Pepsi trailer, cooks, got Porta Johns, various details, goody bags for Dyno participants and the video setup for filming the trucks.

Now we just need good weather!

Join us for a Dyno day by Dave Dunbar and the 1st meeting of the SCTDR, see ya Saturday!

Will a dually fit on the dyno? At May madness duallys had to remove the outer wheels to fit. If they'll fit I'll try and get there :D

Oh... Anybody need a cap? Still have this thing & need to sell it... .

for shortbed 2nd gen (will work with longbed but would need new rails and some sunbrella material stiched into the top).

Well, by buddy John Glasgow will be there. So John, aren't you supposed to buy the drinks when USC beat UGA? :-laf

Mike and I will be heading out today after he gets off work. Won't arrive at our hotel in Florence until about 11:00 tonight.

Looking forward to a great time at Perfection Clutch...

I hope you guys have a great time. Gary is a good friend of mine, and I wish I could be there to help support this meeting.

My buddy Anthony is gonna make it up there from Mid-Tenn. So at least there'll be some representation from neck of the woods.

Gary, If you guys wanna rival the Mid-Tenn gang's antics, then somebody's gotta catch the road on fire doing a burnout, and the cops have to show up twice. Anthony can fill you in on the details...

Between Gary Croyle, Anthony Cook and David Dunbar there'll be no shortage of friendly people to talk diesel and swap stories with.

Go have a blast fellas!

Sound like there's a little history between a couple of you guys! Should be interesting.

Dave, we have a new sports bar/restaurant, should be a good spot after the Dyno, have a recap, wind down and hopefully start plans for next year!

Andy the Darlington County Sheriff's office is about 12 miles (est) North of here, just West from The Lady in Black, who as we sit here is getting a face lift in time for next spring. Hopefully no one will have to deal with the Magistrate Monday AM!

Thanks all for making the event happen!

I wanted to thank those involved and for making this event happen - was fun and can't wait for another! Wish I would have arrived there earlier but I had domestic duties that morning and it was a 2. 5 hour ride.

here's my dyno results for the day - now I am left trying to figure out how to get more power (without showing up on the wife's radar)...

1st SCTDR Dyno and Meeting!

WOW what a day! The weather co-operated, the turnout was great, David and Mike ran a strong day at the Dynojet. Door prizes, 2008 Ram 3500 6. 7L, 2008 F350 6. 4L from Raceway Automotive on display, even a 1st Gen with a "Duplex" transmission got on the Dyno. We started off with a pair of Jeep Liberty's at 152 and 185. 5RWHP. It was great to meet you guys and watch your Diesels at work on the dyno. Now for the bragging rights (RWHP / RWTQ), well John Glasgow took the top spot using #2 at 729/1298, then with NoS he hit 834/1500+ !!!! 480Ruger came in second at 648/1112 and Bob Krug took third at 445/894. MRaynor took 4th with 442/893. Now when it came time for the top three cash payouts, John stepped aside and passed his winnings to 480Ruger, and so on! That was a class thing to do, thanks John!, John will have David at his shop for a Dyno day on 10/22. My calendar is clear, see you there.

OK, now for the Perfection Clutch bragging rights, it was my 2005 vs. the Perfection Show Truck, well when the Dynojet spit out the results, MY 2005 beat the 2007 of Perfection by 6. 8 RWHP! and I came in 5th overall even beating Brandon's sharp 2003. That's a nice looking truck Brandon. OK, no more chest thumping.

We are super busy here at the office this week and the early returns are that this was the FIRST ANNUAL Pee Dee Diesel Dyno Daze, see you next year!

Almost forgot, my son, Jacob found out at the event that we have a 1997 12V 3500 for his first vehicle, he is paying for it from his summer jobs. The bad news is that it got hit by the KDP and needs fixed. Jacob will have to learn how to fix it along with me. This will be a challenge. Big thanks to Anthony Cook Mid-TN chapter for the gear case and cover. I think we will have a few questions on the 12V forum as we go.

Pictures are John Glasgow and 480Ruger and the stayed till the end gang.

THANKS TO ALL!
