I think it would be the best thing that ever happened to the site. They would experience a membership growth like never before, you would have the old group that had the Dodge/Cummins combo, the ones that helped start the whole thing. Then you would have two new groups of members, the Dodge/MB group and the Ford/Cummins group (gee that sounds good,Ford/Cummins). Ford sells more trucks then anyone, and with the Cummins available in the super duty models, it would skyrocket into pick-up heaven. I think they would out sell the other two combined, and it might even knock Chevrolet out of the diesel market. The Dodge/MB group would be a new group with a mix of the old Dodge/Cummins group, they would pioneer a new dawn in the Dodge history books much like they did with the Dodge Ram trucks of old, back in 1994.
As far as the web site goes, it would grow to proportions UN-imagined, if they were quick to act and could re-tool fast enough. Think about it, it would be the equivalent of the TDR as we know it today, with the membership of the Diesel Truck Resource times 10 added. No longer would their be this Ford vs Dodge debate, the two would join to make a large and happy family. The new debate would be Cummins vs MB, and maybe even this transmission vs the other transmission, who knows? I would like to see it happen, the web site would be fun. Unfortunately Dodge might loose out some, it depends on how fast they could make the transition. If they had a tried and tested combination from MB, one that would fill the void and even take the product line to a new level, they would fair very well. But if they launched a new product line and had any where near the start up problems the 6. 0L from Ford had, then I think the Dodge combo would fail and Dodge would suffer a blow too sever to continue. I hope it does not come to that, I like both brands and feel they both offer something worth having. Regardless of what happens, I can not see anything but good for the TDR site and publication, they have the ability to please both sides, and would offer the aftermarket a wonderful place to do business.

In the highly unlikely event that would happen, I'm sure the site would continue and evolve because of the high number of very loyal and knowledgeable Dodge CTD owners who intend to stay right where they are. There are diehards who would never give up their Ram CTDs. I assert 'highly unlikely' because the decision-makers in DC would have to lose their collective mind to go with a MB diesel when they have a sure-fire winner with the CTD, marketshare-wise. In some parts of the country, nearly ALL the pickups you see on the road that are actually WORK trucks are Dodge CTDs. I seriously doubt that is going to happen anytime soon. Why gamble just for the sake of using a MB diesel engine which is such a huge unknown to the portion of the buying public that loyally uses the Cummins and knows well the reputation of the Cummins?
Does anyone remember the thrust MB made into the truck market with their medium duty line of diesel trucks years ago??? Do you see any of THOSE MB diesel trucks still on the road??? No, you don't.
I could see where MAYBE, just possibly DC would 'test the waters' by sticking their toe in with an 'option' of a MB diesel powered Ram just to see how it is received, all the while continuing to sell the CTD left and right. Don't hold your breath for a MB diesel in a HD Ram.
DC isn't going to let go of the goose that lays the golden egg, and Ferd is in too deep with International/Navistar - for now. JMO

I would like to see the TDR open up a little. I am buying a M-2 freightliner with the MB-926 engine in it for my business, and unfortunately will probably have to sell my dependable '03. By the same token, I have plans on the drawing board to install an ISB in my '58 Willys FC-170. I love the combination of Dodge/CTD, but until/Unless they wise up and offer a 4500/5500/6500 size vehicle I'm stuck with going elsewhere to get the vehicle I need
