hey all, thanks to alot of help from MOAB i have a functioning speedo again!! He told me how to wire around the burned out brain and get the sensor to work without the use of a computer. the first few trips were fine, now the needle won't hold steady. it wobles about 5 mph, sometimes ten.

i unpluged the wires at the sensor, and found transmission fluid on them adn in the conector. i think there may be transmission fluid in the sensor, too since i have no external leaks. how would i get this better? is a seal missing? i surely don't want to give napa another $50 for a 'made in india" sensor. #@$%!

thanks, kent

Hi Kent,

Electrical impulses could cause wobble. Did you solder or crimp the resistors? If crimped. check and see if they are tight. Even though I just inserted the resistors in the connector for my beta test I did not have any wobble, but it is possible that an intermittant power supply could cause that affect.

Mechanical: A buddy of mine had worn speedo gear and the added backlash caused wobble. When you clocked the speedo gear, could it have loosened up?

Fluid in the sensor sounds not good for you and good for NAPA though.

Good Luck
