Hi all; I have a 87 chevy crew cab I put a 90 cummins in this truck. My speedo is mechanical and it runs backwards. 70 is 35 and 35 is 60. Any help would be great. The transmission is a getrag 5 speed.

RL,

I can't help you with it, but I know a lot of used car salesmen that would like that technology!

Welcome aboard the 1st Gen TDR! Good luck with your problem.

hi! one way to make a chevy better! does either trans have a small gear reduction box? they adust for gear ratio and out put is sometimes reverse of input. good luck and welcome pete

Back when all spedos were mechanical, I saw some reversing adapters on trucks. It was just an intermediate apparatus at the output of the transmission. You might find something on a older truck in a salvage yard.

The speedo feed is at the back of the transmission as normal as I can tell it looks like a stock speedo hook-up. I contacted a place in oregon and they are sending me a reverse gearbox. Thanks for all the replys.
