July 29 Northeast Event/Truck Race

Sonora Pass opens

This is Great!!... .

My Black 4X4 QC Sport finally comes in and my wife is now more execited than I am says call the rail yard and see if you can get pictures. Of course I go they're not gonna let me in to take pictures and I bet nobody has asked to do it before... . WRONG! I called and the guy says "you bet" wants to know the rail car number and tells me what time he will off load it. So I show up and there sits this Union Pacific car carrier and he say its the last one off the top asks for my camera goes inside and takes pictures while it's still inside, comes back hands the camera back and when he takes it off the top tier he stops so I can get some good pictures. He then stops at the bottom lets be look it over ( thru the fence as I could not go in) he does a once over for me then goes and parks it.

I had already called my dealer in Ritzville WA and so he comes up with his car hauler and brings me a van to drive to Ritzville tomorrow to pick up THE TRUCK after he details it. The dealer then lets me go inside the rail yard and drive the truck (7 miles on it) for about a mile to where his car hauler is and offers to let me go show my wife (she has to work I don't hehehe).

Only in Spokane... I don't think I would have been able to do all this anywhere else around here.

I guess I have a few questions:

1. I hope someone takes all that plastic off the outside looks like plastic wrap on a cheap sandwich hehehe.

2. Do I have to let my wife drive it? (I'm gonna just guess at this one)

3. Is there someway to make this TRUCK smoke more (Bombing)?

It's nice to know that Spokane still has that small town feel.

What a deal getting to see it in the yard.

You'll love your truck. And..... yes you gotta let the wife drive the truck. If I don't let Mary Beth drive the truck at least once a week, well it ain't a good thing.

Cheers Papa Joe

Yep we'll all have to get together... .

Looks like I'll break it in for a few miles then on to the VA or injectors or TC or I guess it never ends...

My wife said we have to start with nerf bars but I don't think I'll get anymore HP or Torq out 'em. I told her if we got a VA that she could get in easier but I don't think she beleived me. (she's 4'10")
Maybe that old wooden step stool that I can't stand on anymore would work for her.

Life is GOOD

For being the largest city in eastern Washington, that is very personal and considerate treatment #ad
. Good to hear stories like this. Also, Ritzville isn't exactly on the outskirts of Spokane. I wouldn't have guessed there was a Dodge dealer there, in that little town on the prarie. Sounds like they really make an effort in the customer service dept. Ritzville is a good 60 miles away from Spokane!

I frequently cruise to Spokane, so I oughta meet up with you fellas next time I'm up that way. Gotta check out those rigs #ad

Why do fat chance and slim chance mean the same thing? My wife is a North Dakota girl. Probably burned more diesel than I'll ever buy. Anyway I can't get her out of it, and when she and her three gal friends go garage sale-ing, God only knows what'll be in the back when she comes home.

I've got the full length diamond plate running boards and love 'em. Makes getting in and out easy for everyone, including grandkids, allows better acces to the bed (mine aren't the longest legs in the world, and it keeps the fender flares clean year round (and free from chips). Joe

I lived up by Whitworth college a few years back. . 1964-65! Spokane is a beautiful area. I will be there for several days the last week of august... if you have a get-together around then, let me know. I would love to meet some of you "easterners"!
My wife owned a 92 cummins dually when we got married... gotta love that!

It'd be neat to meet everyone.

We could meet somewhere in Eastern WA but I think we should wait until the temps are over the 100 degree mark. That would make having a black truck worth every penny I paid for it. #ad

We could do Spokane or Moses Lake, or Tri-cities or Ritzville or Washtucna (where the heck is that} or Post Falls then someone could show me how to open the hood. #ad

for a ride in a BOMBed truck. I've read more BOMB posts than I can count, but I really want to see the "walk", know what I mean? I'm the only Panhandle boy here, I'll drive to Ritzville in a heart beat. Joe

Post Falls, Idaho: Hot Rods is on the south side of the freeway (I90) and has a 41'? phord sitting on top of a post. They have a get together I believe in the spring with drag racing out front of the restaurant. There is a thought!!!! HVAC??? where are you?

Meeting at Hot Rods sounds good to me. The next time I'll be in Spokane is May 6 & 7 (Bloomsday weekend). A Saturday afternoon or evening meeting could be a possibility. My kid has a couple soccer games there that weekend, and I have a certification exam Sunday am at Spokane Falls Comm. College, but I'm NOT doing Bloomsday. I don't know how this weekend looks for you guys.

Man 'O Man... Just drove back from Ritzville in the BABY and just to show you that I'm not to spoiled, after I drove around town a bit I let my wife make the first half of the trip north and then let my 16 yr old son drive the last half. Is all my wife and son could say is the POWER is unreal and she kept trying to pass every semi she could find. I look and she's doing 80 and this is from someone who never goes over the speed limit. I need to get an air horn from a Union Pacific Engine so she can let everyone know she's cummin. My son knew it was not a good idea for him to go over but I let him get up to 75 once as he was passing. This is SO COOL as my wife says.

Gonna meet the dealer in Spokane tomorrow he's gonna take me to parts house so I can buy whatever I want at his price. Now that's service.

YES YES lets meet in Post Falls May works for me. We need to get tshunt to come as I think he said he had the VA. This new truck has all the power I want but as someone else said enough in never enough.

Hey Joe you sound like you are ready to do some bombing and have more know how than I maybe I can learn from a PRO

Scott1
Post Falls is at the Wa Id border on I-90 (do they have interstates in Canada or is it interprovidences #ad

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. May 6, Saturday sounds good. Weather is 50-50 this time of year, as you know. Since I'm the closest, you guys settle a time and let me know if you're bringing wives/girlfriends/kids/dogs/bodyguards/in-laws/etc.

BTW We'll probably get moved to a different forum (it's only right), so follow the thread if we get moved. Cheers, Papa Joe

tshunt, troutlips, bear834, Papa Joe--

I am hitting the road to Spokane in a bit, and I shoulda made contact with ya a couple days ago but didn't have plans in place until just a bit ago... .

Hope to see you guys at 5!!

Hey Vaughn; just so those California Diesel Heads don't think I'm biased I'll drop this in the "regional" area too (yeah, I know, it's not an "event", but we can't have a specific category for everything).
