Competition Haisley's Comp Puller Question?

Competition F350 duallie vs 2500

I'm sure by "stock" he means stock cam/plungers/etc. I'm betting it's got some rack travel mods

Bingo, it has a #6 plate, 4K's, 181's, stock holders, Rack Cap and whatever Industrial managed to get out of it for numbers. I still call it stock as it still have the stock cam, and stock P&B's.

God bless you Andy :)

Jim

that's what I figured... stock as in something anyone w/ a stock pump could easily replicate at home without actually getting "inside" the pump.

awesome numbers!

I've got another truck running around OKC that is setup a little different. No pump work at all other than my stuff, that would be a good test bed but he is lacking in the turbo department, 446#2 and 496 with water/meth on a stock HX-35. Right now he's running one of my old 40's but wants to jump to a SPS 62 so that would be a good test bed. I don't see that combo making less that 550 on #2 only.

On my pump I don't thing the numbers out of it were anything spectacular but yes it has been to the stand... ... ... from earlier in the thread:
The current setup is a stock 215 pump that I bought from a friend used that has had a tiny tweak from I. I. , bone stock 370's that I have had for a long time, and the same SPS 66 that I bought 2 years ago.

I don't see the numbers as being a big deal and actually lower than I thought. It does have a big cam, big ported head, lower compression and a good intercooler. These all point to the inability to make more than 50 psi of boost on fuel.

While we all here all know better you still attempt to show us you are way more knowledgable than Schieds,Haisley,Power By Poole,EEP,etc etc etc when it comes to tuning.

You will never hear things like this coming out of my mouth, I'm just some regular Joe or Jim having fun with his truck.

Jim

Jim I believe ya, and congrats again. So, when are you going to show them the other sheet that you faxed me last month. Or, do you just not want to stir up the "non-believers". ;)

I've got a customer with a 98 12v 5sp truck he dynoed his truck over 2 years ago with this setup.

Pump has never been off the truck 160,000 miles

Head has not been ported (just o-ringed)

Studs

Had a custom plate

DVs (Stock holders)

Stock lines

Timing

370's (stock)

40/35 hybrid (external wastegate) with an off the shelf 3b- twins

Stock Cam

Fuel System (SMDiesel)

AFE

5" stacks

The truck did 589 with a retard for a dyno operator. (5th gear mash the throttle @ 2000rpm and tried to bounce it off of the gov at 3700) It was a rice burner gas guy trying to dyno the truck. Needless to say the twins didn't light all that well in that situation.

So, I don't think 600 on fuel would be a big problem with Jim's setup.

Pump tweaked better

And less turbo to eat up the exhaust energy.

I think he should jump to an SPS66... I happen to have a brand new one laying around ;)

Forrest, he might just do that! I think what we are going to do is take mine off one day and let him use it, but it has to tow real well as he pulls up to 26K.

Wes, you are just too funny! Yea it's nice to finally have an everything machine to work with the laptop and get faxes ect.

Jim

I am glad this thread came up. I was gonna go with a set of $700+ injectors but I see the 370's are just fine for my power goals. Thanks! :)

David, I have a set of EDM's also and they have there place! If it were up to me I'd rather have a set of Dragon fly's from Industrial Injection. Better than a 370 ever though about being but not as big as mine... ... you might at least enquire about it.

Jim

For me the Dragon Fly injectors provided better EGTs and more power while having a cleaner burn and no idle haze.

But like Jim I also have a set of Dragon XXXXX (Bigger than Dragon Flows, which are already bigger than Dragon Flies) for when I'm serious about my racing.

~Wes~

Near future predictions are 625 with 370's + Water/Meth= 675 + Same N2O system puts me at 850, add a second stage of N2O and go close to 900 if not on it. Add EDM's and it goes past a grand with ease and all with the same 12mm pump.

Jim

Jim very nice numbers. I do understand what you are saying and claiming. You have always been very cautious about your testing and results. Nice dyno results! Sorry I have been gone for a few days. Thanks

And... SledPuller16 will be completed by April 1st, and have 2000 HP, Fulmer!! ROTFLMAO!!!

Did COMP take over Jims user name?

Jim? Jim? Come back!!!! :-laf

Oh come on Sleddy! Just cause he has changed his plan of attack away from #2 only to playing with the Giggle gas doesn't mean anything. Jim knows how to get every last little pony out of the fuel he is dumping in there.

Best of all... . No antics. He's telling us what he's running. Believe him or don't, that's your deal. This whole post from beginning to... well when it ends has stated what's being run. The little details... . well that's what makes him the tuner he is.

Just throwing lots of fuel and lots of timing at it, reving it to 4500 and letting the clutch out isn't gonna work for putting down high HP numbers... .

I'm still here, actually there are people here that need to see the results. Those that have helped me out with parts ect, it's really for them, call it a pat on the back.

Jim

I keep working on this combo and it just gets better. Fixed the self induced pump issue that I took to the dyno and gained the 6 psi of boost back I had lost. Then over the last few day (now that I'm home) I noticed the truck runs great till about 3/4 throttle, I mean hauls butt, but goes a little flat on the top, so I dropped the Governor arm 2 full turns, so now the arm touches just a tad under the #6 plates nose. Now the bottom is softer and the topend pulls harder than ever but there was another issues found on the Post Flight.

Something just didn't sound right when I pulled into the garage, so out I go to listen, hum..... valvetrain, pop the covers off while it still running... ... . #4 sounds bad, it was. #4 Intake and #3 Intake push rods were bent :(

Don't even have a clue why as this is a first for me but the cummins parts counter is open late and the new ones are in with a full check and Valve Adjustment complete.
