sport conversion wiring

My original wiring utilized the low beam filaments of the inboard 9004 bulbs with low beams and high beams.

If your truck wasn't wired that way originally. Even the installation instructions you attached state that the OE wiring "never uses the low beam filaments of the 9004 (inboard) bulbs."

Does anybody know (or remember) which edition of the TDR had the article about converting to the sport headlight system? Specifically, I am trying to figure out what part of the sheet metal behind the headlight assembly needs to be trimmed on my 1996 to make the change.

I originally had harnesses from a company that I think is no longer in business (SUV Sport Lights or something like that), they failed once, I replaced them and then later replaced with a wiring harness from daniel Stern and is probably what I would recommend for the average person, it was plug and paly and works as it should.
