sps62 drive pressure readings!

Magnaflow mistake, help please

when I first got my sps62 from II, it would hit 45psi, and every once in a while, it would hit 47-48 and then come back down to 45.

tonight I was playing w/ the pump a little, didn't touch the turbo or the boost elbow... boost went to 50psi and held there. drive pressure was even at 50psi. EGT's seemed to be climbing slightly quicker, but it might be that I found a little more fuel... driving up to Dallas today, boost would max out at 48psi and hold.

I just want to make sure I'm not overspinning her. I love this turbo and wanna keep it healthy :D

2:04

I see you were up late.

But it looks like I'm up later.

4:01 right now anyway. Call me in the morning and remind me about the 3K kit.

Later,

Wes

And I've got both of you on the time thing. I heard and seen a vid of one running to 70 psi. I've had mine to 62 but that was with the old (non-ported)housing, it's stuck at 55 now with the ported housing. Forrest, I just can't see you hurting that turbo, you would just have to be in my truck on the bottle to understand that statement.

II told me that charger was ok to 60psi and nitrous friendly. My runs right at 55psi wot. I have not touched the adjustments on it, right out of the box. I am gonna wind up in jail if somebody doesn't open a dragstrip around here pretty soon :-laf

Forrest, did you ever put the 4's back in?

Dave

as a matter of fact, today I re-torqued my studs up to 120, and I installed the 4's! anticipating a smoke show, I went from zero to about 1/8" preload on the AFC shaft, and I took the star wheel from full forward to where it just contacted the spring.

it'll smoke for sure, but it's pretty drivable, and the 4's burn cleaner than the 215's w/ thick washers did!!!!

MAN really moving now!!!!!! it's running way better than it did w/ the twins. period.

drive pressure vs. boost is funky... in 5th gear it'll make 50psi w/ 55psi drive pressure... in 6th, it'll make 55psi w/ 50psi drive pressure  I guess either way the head gasket is only seeing "55psi" (I realize drive pressure isn't a direct thing) I'd LOVE for it to do 55psi w/ 50psi drive pressure all the time

this thing is so drivable and the turbo hits so hard now it's rediculous... once I yank the 6sp and get a 5sp in it, I'm seriously considering a silver66 Oo.

got to lay into it in the light of day on dry road... the DDP4's are almost totally clean out the tailpipe. just a little haze!

I need more fuel! :-laf

dude im with you, i just installed the sps62 and stacks on mine and holy **** i havent been this happy with my truck ever!! cant keep the smile off my face!!

Lotero, congrats on the stacks, I can't wait to get back home and meet ya'll. We can turn some heads with "our" stacks!!!! I had stacks before I put the turbo on and it sounded good, but when I fired it up after I installed my SPS62 and that thing wound up and started singing through the pipes and not to mention the growl through the pipes, my truck is known around here for both looks and sound...

mine is quickly becoming known too!! and yea that turbo sounds absolutely amazing through the stacks, i am driving it like a stick just because it sounds so wicked coming off boost, as if between shifts. . i never realized how much it would sound like a rig with straight pipes, i cant keep the smile off my face!! its already got me into a few gawking sessions and races (easily won) with the diesels around here... :-laf :-laf
