Hay guys I have a noise or a squeak when turning off the truck.

I put a new belt on that did not solve the problem . I was told it was the tensioner and somebody else says its the valves . what do i do to check this.

Thanks MIKE

Thats normal i believe its from the high compresion of the engine it stops before the other component have time to witch makes them come to a screeching halt. Its known as belt chirp :D

Usually when your truck is cold, it will chirp when you shut it down. After mine has warmed up, the chirp is gone when i shut it down. Oo.

I put a Gatorback on and changed out the plastic tensioner pulley to a steel one. The new Gatorback squalled like a cat on fire :mad:

Put the OEM belt back on and tossed the Gatorback under the seat for a spare.

Still get the chirp... but it doesn't bug me!

OHH---NOOO you have the dreaded ""CWSD"""... ... ... ... .

CHIRP WHILE SHUTTING DOWN

Its Normal... . LOL

Ive heard the gator helped alot of people who was bothered by it.

I always wait till an unexspecting pedestrian walks by the front of my truck then SQUEAK... . LOL gets them every time

Manual?

Do the manuals with a heavier flywheel still chirp? Is this a 24v only club?

Mine never chirped. :{

Is it possible to bomb the chirp louder? :-laf

Mine with the 6-speed chirps probably 40-50% of the time. Always has. One would think that the HOs with their higher compression ratio would be more prone to the chirp than the SOs.

My 12V was louder than my 24V. But then it had more miles on the belt and tensioner.
