Recieved the SRT-10 shifter handle yesterday and installed it this morning.

The adapter looks good welds are excellent, install was simple and had plenty of room under the boot no problem there. The indexing washers/shims worked perfectly to line it up straight. The location is excellent, very comfortable and as mentioned doesn't hit the ashtray in first gear and allows easy utilization of the cupholders. The leather ball is a good comfortable size and the shifter feels good and solid no "flex" feeling to it. Overall it is an excellent product and great upgrade in both appearance and function.

Great job tomeygun, Thanks... pictures in my gallery.

I am strting to think that maybe there are a few different boots made. Cause both you and NPantaleo have what looks like a TON of room... Where as I had a very tight fit so much that too much time is 2nd gear ripped my leather from the base and had to be re-glued...

Hmmm... looks like some part# browsing is in order :)

on the 03 1500 5 speed i had, i am 90% sure the shift boot was leather. . my 04 6 speed has a rubber leather look boot. maybe that is the difference?? if they switched from the leather to rubber between 02-03 and 04-present???

I bet Laramie trucks have a leather boot and SLT trucks have a rubber boot.

both my 03 1500 5sp and 04 2500 6sp were/are sport package slt's... ??? cost cutting i think is the answer??

[the only reason i didn't go laramie was leather seats and push button 4x4]

Installed!!!

Yesterday at 6am I was out in front of my shop installing the new shifter on my BD Short-Shift. A little fooling with shims to get the shifter aligned, and it's perfect. I like this thing a LOT.

The shifter is in a perfect position, perhaps a little closer. It also seems lower. Whatever the difference is, it feels better. Eliminating the dampener also allows for a more precise feel. I don't think it will be as easy to hit 7th gear by mistake any more :-laf

Here are some pics.

The second pic is 1st gear.

The third pic is 6th gear.

 what dampener

Between the threaded section and the stalk on the stock shifter there is a rubber dampener/grommet that isolates vibration and allows some flex.

I put the stock shifter in a vise to get the knob off and I could move the shifter around without the threaded section moving at all.

With the SRT-10 shifter you can definitely feel some more vibration. I'm sure glad I don't have a dual disc any more.

Some have said that the spinning shift pattern indicator may be due (in some cases) to the actual stalk shifting position. I cannot verify this one way or another. Mine did not rotate at all.

Put shifter on truck yesterday an drove around some last night this thing rocks combined with the BD short shifter. Install was easy took less than an hour an fits nicely under the boot. I would highly recomend this combo for anyone wanting to hotrod a nv5600 makes the old Dodge shift like a LS1 Camaro with a 6 spd. I love the feel of leather ball an the shifter closer to me not to mention it looks great. I would rate it a 10 nice job TG.

Working on it... been trying to contact Tommey for days... . no luck. :{

Ahhh, it will be in the mail tomorrow...

UPDATE - testing on 3rd gens had shown all to be good, in fact even shown that the shifter can be mounted 2 different ways netting 2 difference offsets,

I am stopping by the machine shop today to work a deal on like 100+ run of the adapters...

After that, full production models will be available Oo. Oo. :D

It'll give me something to put on mid-week like I need that! :-laf So far I'm already planning on making a new weight bar, as well as installing dual 30" Grovers behind my front bumper, and customizing some exhaust to take my truck back to a 4" straightpipe and all of this is on Saturday!! :-laf
