I was told by a friend it may not happen due to the complexity of the G56 shift mechanism.

Turbo1Ton - Yep, I will be calling the machine shop tomorrow to see if I can pick up my order...

Shifter's working great man! Where did you get the spacers at I think I may need one or two more thin ones to get the shifter perfectly straight?.

You should be allowed a final inspection and it didn't pass. How far out are they? +1/8"?
Tomeygun said:I told them I would be by at noon to drop them off and have a talk with the owner about quality... .
And I would say 1/8 or just a little less.
GiesJ said:+/- 1/8 on a simple part like that is just silly.
Their website says they are ISO certified. I am not familiar with ISO, but do work with ASME (I believe they are similar) and you will want to talk to the Quality manager/owner about potentially the following (they may or may not apply):
-Final inspection report on your part(s) – who checked it and said yep, ok. This should be documented. If it is not, make sure they will document it when you get your fixed parts.
-NCR (Non-conformance report) on your items. Might not be a bad idea to ask to see their Non-conformance log – this will show what other problems their QA department etc has uncovered.
-Corrective Action
I. E. - what did they do wrong, how they documented their screw up and what they are going to do to keep from making the same mistake in the future? For as much as they claim to be quality and customer service make sure they deliver that to you. Stay cool and let them do a lot of the talking.
One thing though, whenever you make chips, cut, etc. mistakes can happen. My machine shop has screwed up an angle cut on two different parts two different times (same angle though).
I hope this turns out ok! Keep us posted...
