CumminsPower98, they look sweet!!

How are you guys/gals attaching the stacks to the bed? Or, if you aren't attaching them to the bed... what are you attaching them to?

How much oversize on the hole in the bed are you using?... . example: 4" stack = 4. 5" hole, etc.....

I think I like the idea of a stack or two... ... but I need to find out the cold hard facts from someone who knows Mass. emission laws.....

Matt

VERY nice! That pic is worth at least a few thousand words.....

Thanks!

On edit: Is that a custom piece, or is it readily available through class-8 truck places?

Matt

:--) BEAUTIFUL!

Where did you order/get everything? I've been calling for the past couple of days trying to locate dealers and such. Did you use Oasis-3's list? How hard were they to install? How long? How did you cut the hole in the bed.

I'm next in line for stacks!:{ :{ :{ (if ya can't tell!):-laf

VERY NICE

CP98

Very Nice job on your stacks :D

The pictures look great.

Now put your windows down and let them stacks sing to ya

Good Luck

Cliff

All these pictures are making me want to raise the priority status on getting stacks :D

So many things to do, so little time, or more importantly little money !

Nice looking install tho.

HoleshotHolset: I made the hole in the bed about 5" for the 4" 'Y' pipe. The picture that Jim posted of course shows the stack-mounting clamp, which I did buy from a truck place.

got smoke: I bought most of my parts from: USA Truck Parts I bought a couple parts from Berube's Truck Accessories and that was only because the other place didn't list them on their Internet order form. Either one of these places have everything you need for a good price. The stacks were cheaper at USA Truck Parts. I priced some basic parts at the local Carquest and Napa and their prices were almost twice what these online shops were. The only problem with USA Truck Parts is that they require a minimum order size of $500 so I ended up with a couple extra stacks to fill out the order. I bought 48" stacks because they said they didn't get 36" in very often and they were only $6 more. I cut them off anyway to 30". The guy at USA Truck I talked to said that they get more sales from guys like us customizing pickups and the like then they do from the class 8 guys. I thought that was interesting.

Of anyone is interested I have those two extra 5"x48" straight stacks brand new never opened I would like to sell. They are just like the ones in the pictures. I paid $60. 30 each and would sell them both for $110. 00 I would pay for the shipping.

If I had known you were gonna order extra's I would have gotten you to go ahead and get mine. I want the curved (more like angled, I think they are called bull horn?) ones for my truck. Seeing as my truck is white and would look like a holestein (sp?) if I had straight stacks. :--) :-laf

CumminsPower98, just about perfect! I don't think I can bring myself to put stacks on my truck, but if I did, they would look just like that. Right hieght, striaght angle cut, 5", man they look good. :D

How hard is it to do the Y under the bed? Just curious.

Brian

HillCountryKid: It's easy to do the 'Y'. You just run the 4" pipe into a 90º elbow under the bed and up into the 'Y' pipe which sticks down through the bed.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments! :)

stacks

Your stacks look mint, If I didn,t have a work cap loaded w/tools I would take the off your hands. They must sound awesome. You got to take a action shot of them billowing out a plume of black smoke... . allittle tire smoke would be a definate bonus :D :D :D :D :D

I've been hummin and hawin about doin this for a while now but have wondered about the cab noise.

How's the sound in the cab? I'm sure it sounds good but what about after a few hrs of cruisin. I'm runnin a straight pipe now and love it. I get some some resonance when cruisin which isn't a problem but I'm not sure I'd want anymore. Are the stacks loud in the cab when cruisin or just when yer pourin the coals to er :D .

Thanks

Woodenhead: First I need to say I have not gone very far yet at higher speeds with this set up. So far it has mostly been bombing around town and a few test runs. My impressions at this point are that it's pretty good for just easy cruising. It does get a little louder of course when you put your foot down. I posted right after I put them on about how I thought I didn't have the drone anymore but I think I do still have it. I don't have much of a muffler on there. All I have is a small bullet race muffler so I don't think it does much. I have not had anyone ride in the back seat yet to tell me how bad it is back there. It mostly depends on your own taste. I will say that it is for sure some louder then a regular straight pipe, which is what I ran for some time. Hope this helps.

Mark

Thanks for clearing this up for me, I've been wondering about this one for a while. I was planning on only putting on one stack behind the passenger side. I wonder if that would make any difference.
