Advice: Whats next?

Installed Airdog

Well that is a shame. Eventually there will be someone who will take the risk to venture onto the 6. 7 field. It is a great engine. The early adopters will look back and laugh but in the mean while we must suffer along with lack of options and sort out our own future. Finding and wading through the documentation and or lack there of is very discouraging at times. Most current attempts are crude at best and lack the sophistication to match the power of the ECM/PCM. Once the new generation of Diesel Software Geeks get involved then we will see some amazing after market items. IMHO Until then don't anyone hold their breath as they are sure to expire during the wait period.

The 6. 7 intake horn is a very busy lil piece. Many things come together there. The actual opening at the plate is about twice the area of the normal 3rd gen

When you have some performance numbers ready and a price, I'd be interested. If it's just a bling item I'll pass.

PM me if needed. Thanks.

Got an opportunity to dyno the stock intake vs. the new Ultra Flow Plenum on a 2006 Dodge tomorrow, If all goes well on the twin install should get some results by tomorrow night. I am also having my guy that does CNC drawings do a 3D drawing so guys can see the differences completely through the inside to see the gains in flow.

Finally got a truck on the dyno with the new plenum, it was a 2006 with MPI twins, bullydog, and a TST. Stock injectors and fuel system.

Peak power went from 522hp&924ft. lbs with stock plenum vs. 530hp&936ft. lbs with the plenum I made. Peak power was at about 3200rpm

The gains were the biggest at around 2300rpm. the truck was up around 30hp&40ft. lbs.

All testing was done with the factory heater grid in place, I will do more tests with the two different styles of grid eliminators that I'm working on. \

If someone want I can e-mail then the dyno sheets of the truck so they can post them I just don't know how.

For those who are interest let me know. I will be building x10 2nd gens and x10 3rd gens at a time.

Thanks Stefan

Should be by friday(finished product), I'm going to the shop to get the brackets made for the dipstick tomorrow or thrusday. Then once guys give me the go ahead I 'd say 2 weeks. Then after the first back I'll try to keep them in stock.

Stefan, nice prototype. Curious, what grade/type stainless are you using? Also, is the base flange a slip-on, welded on the ID only? thanks

The grade of stainless is 304. I also changed the flange to 1/2 inch so that there is no warpage. It is pressed in then then the out part of the flange is welded. But don't worry he is an incredible welder, His welds actually make the part look better. imho

How about a test on a 2nd gen truck, we all know you will see a improvment on a 3rd gen due to the restrictive air horn. I have yet to see a air horn that made an inprovement on a 2nd gen yet. Prove me wrong and i'll buy one.
