Try to keep this short.
Truck was parked for a day after an 800 mile trip to Talladega. Got in to start and it cranked hard, then fired, ran rough I moved it where I needed to, and shut it down. Tried to refire and it wouldnt start, just cranked and cranked. Figured it was the shut off solenoid. Lifted the plunger and it still cranked alot then fired up running rough and smoked like crazy. Drove it 800 miles back home never shutting it off. Tore apart the solenoid, the boot was ripped. Cleaned it up and it has started every time since. Now once in a while when it starts I will put it in gear and it gets rough and almost stalls, sometimes it is fine. Idle is at 700 in drive with a/c on, changed return hose last year. Doesnt seem to smoke abnormally and it starts with just a bump of the key. I hate to up the idle anymore because with my new transmission, it drops into gear pretty hard as it is. Stretched the overflow valve once last year. Seems to run fine otherwise.
