I have heard good things about the stanadyne fuel additives... have yet to try it myself though... any good thoughts for my truck?

I was looking around their site and also saw their filters and pumps... . are they any good? Do they even make any apps for us? I could ask them, but you all are the experts around here! ;)

Any idea where to buy the stuff in bulk? I'd go broke if I bought the small bottles all the time. Used to pick it up at a place in Amarillo but they've been out for so long it's not even funny.

I get mine from Cummins Orlando (FL) in 5 gallon cans. Last can was ~ $160. Then I break it down into 1/2 gallon & 8 oz containers.

I overmedicate mine. 8 oz / 24 gallons.

Stanadyne on board

I use Stanadyne Performance, have been for years. I liken it to taking a multi-vitamin. It doesn't give you a performance boost. It gives you piece of mind that your nutrition is properly supplemented. Things like water suspension and algae control don't make horsepower, but they do make for a healthier fuel injection system. I buy a 12-pack of 16oz bottles, lasts about a year. Bought last from Diesel Manor, good price offset by shipping cost. You could probably save some money going bulk/refill, but for my usage rate, that's not worth the effort.

The 16oz bottles fit perfectly under the rear seat with the help of a couple of el cheapo beverage holders. They don't stand vertically, but resting at an angle means an open bottle doesn't leak either.

I've been using it in my '01 since it was new. 108K miles later and 6 Arctic winters and things are working well. Nice not worrying about your fuel gelling on those lovely -60F days.

That will shrink your nuts a little bit now won't it... ... .....

I have been using it in my '92 for about 7 yrs. no complaints. Recently I have been thinking about possibly switching to Amalgamated "TDR" blend. Anybody have any experience with it ?. Good or bad.

I know, bottom line "if it aint broke don't fix it".

I work for the Air Force and we use Stanadyne in all of our Diesel Powered Equipment, I also use it in my own 1998. 5 Dodge 2500 24-valve CTD. It has just over 167,000 miles and still going strong. It puts more lubricity into the Low Sulfur Diesel. Just my humble opinion.
