Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Starter only clicks when raining ?

Howdy folks, it has been awhile since I was here last.



I know there are archives in here somewhere, but I

thought I'd see if you guys can answer this question.



The past month, when it is raining, my starter will only click

when I turn the key. It sounds like it may be the contacts

not holding. The starter never engauges.



Any one had this happen to them?

Check your starer solenoid contact points, easy deal.

Check wiring.

Check battery post connections.



Moist or raining days and fuel leaks are first/early symptoms that contacts are starting to fail.

Mine started to click about 6 months ago. I took the cables off of the starter and cleaned them, then coated everything with silicone grease. Problem went away. Do it to your battery terminals too and if that doesn't take care of the problem, then you need the contacts.
