Chris,,First I need to put my anti-flaming suit on to protect myself here cause this I got a feeling is gonna hurt... Now that its on I am readddyyyyyy... ...
I agree with Cobra totally on how this guy could have cited you and myself feel he was trying to politely warn you, even though he may not have been very polite or forthcoming,,Had to bite my lip recently early in the morning when I was stopped and hassled about ride height when we both know he stopped me for noise(he just politely commented about the "thunderous noise'' when I gassed her in a small town late one nite, point was taken and yes I did accept my ticket for ride height which i went to court over and got tossed recently),,Bottom line if stacked or sidepipes they must have a heat shield unless they were factory equipped(i know of alot of vechicles with side pipes from factory and NONE that I know of except the original A/C Cobras were heatshield delete,,Most states even in the heavy truck market even mandate shields for stacks and will enforce it along with the muffler law),,I have chatted with the local PSP inspection head guru,he is a long time family friend of ours, worked with my Dad(as did Cobra),his quote was simple for you-Heed the warning and move on,life is too short,,Officer may have had a bad nite/day and you could have just tripped his trigger the wrong way...
The comment about local P/T flunky hits a nerve that does not enthuse me at all,,Remember this, while we all at times do not agree with their methods or their ways of doing their jobs, but,in the end when we need help who do we run too,,Think of it,jack this officer up for doing his job, like it or not,and how fast do you think he'll respond to help you the next time,,Its not right what you think he did, but,he was within his rights as mandated by our screwed up inspection code/vechicle code(Yep,Steve a new showroom stock truck WILL fail in PA,thats a known fact and the reason for some latitude),,I lived with a man who had 35yrs in the PA State Police who also did some PT police work locally after his retirement and I'll say this he was one you'd not want give attitude too, trust me I know first hand,,Just because they are PT officers does not mean they do not know their jobs... .
We all push the code limit here in PA,even me and we have to know when its time to pay the piper,,Cited unjustly ,go to court-Feel he was right, anty up and move on,,No one likes it,its the way it is no matter what state were in,,Someone also said something about hitting the cop earlier,I'd like to see ya do that, how fast can ya say "Honey I need bailed out cause I decked a cop",give me a break here, you need to think a little harder before you hit the enter key...
I'll leave with this,Steve, now I am dissappointed with you,,I see where here you said about adding names to the "I wanna be a moderator" list,,Now you know good and well Sledpuller and I have already volunteered and were passed over,we feel slighted,no cake for you when I see you... ..... Andy
