Ok, two more things I want to take care of.

1. My steering column squeeks when I go over bumps. Anyone else have this problem?

2. The little latch between my sliding rear windows broke a long time ago. I bought two replacements since then, and both broke within a couple days, especially if it was cold. Has anyone found a latch that isn't fragile???

My original lasted almost 10 years. I bought another from the dealer and it has lasted well over a year and have no reason to expect it to fail any time soon.

I got the replacements at Napa and Car quest, so maybe I should stop by the dealer and get an OEM latch.

Thanks, Carl.

So has anyone had that annoying squeek in the steering column???

It bugs me nuts! :D

Carl, I hope it is not from the left cab cowling being cracked. Sound does travel and is very irriitating. I had this problem on my truck.

Chris,

Not only do we seem to be long lost brothers, but our pickups do, too. :) I have the same problem in mine, and plenty of bumps to go over, too. I think the upper and lower parts of the column may not be tight. The wheel has a little up and down slack, like a fatty used it to pull him/her self in the cab for the first 190K. It starts, runs, gets me where I need to go, albeit slowly (thanks to the 4. 10s).

I got the little window dealy from Advance auto Parts in the Springs. IT was still fine when I sold the truck a year and a half ago. I need the plastic strip that goes on the glass itself. Wind get just right, and I cant warm up the cab; not to mention all the dust in the summer. Ironically, my locking clip is in good shape.
