Yep, I think Eric likes his 6sp three times as much as I like mine.

There is only one reason to get a 6 speed manual ... they don't offer a 7 speed.

Acutally I have one of each. I have had the 5speed(getrag) in my 93(140,000 miles on this one. The 90 I aquired several months ago and it has a 727 in it(160,000) on it right now.



I prefer manuals, I got this auto to use it as an offroad truck, and maybe someday some mudracing, so the auto is a +. I just don't like a transmission thinking more than the driver.

I learned to drive a manual, and the good Lord willing, I will never have anything else. But, after drag racing my truck a few times, and seeing guys like Nowel and Drag Diesel run as well, I have come to the conclusion, as painful as it is for me to admit, that an automagic thingee does have an advantage in that one little endeavor - building boost pre-launch, and no losing boost during shifts But, since I only race for fun and not to be super competitive, I love my 6 speed! If a 7 or even 8 speed was an option (without spending $$$$$$$$$), I'd have gone that route. More gears == more better for me

I have a 5 speed, more gears would be better, A 13 speed road ranger would be prefect, wish in one hand and you know the rest.
