Just got 2003

What would you do??

Got one for pretty cheap yesterday, at least for a Stihl. I have a lot of hedgerow overgrown with briars. It seperates my property from another farm and provides cover for wildlife so I keep it trimmed back which is a bear. I had been mulling my options on this for quite some time mostly due to money having to many places to go.

While picking up some blades for my grass trimmer, I was checking the hedge clippers out. The salesman points out this one and says they loan one to their church about once a year, want to try it? I tried it and liked it. He said if I wanted it he would give me a good deal.

It made short work out of taming the briars but dulled out quickly. Still beat a chainsaw so I went back and he said 300 for a 350 saw which was same as new. I happened to have a 40 dollar Stihl coupon which he said I could use also. Cool, I got it for 260 bucks.

I killed an 031 saw by not using it. I had my tools in storage while going through a divorce. Expectedly, the carb dried out but worse, the oil resevoir was within the two piece case. The seal dried out even with oil in it and leaked. Big job to do that.

This new trimmer is pretty slick. Their is a switch on the handle so you can rotate it to find a comfy position. No vibration back through your hands either.

These guys usually treat me good even for a New Holland/Ford dealer. Even when I wear my red power hat too!
