The answer is, of course, It depends.



My stock center caps attach by means of a ring that encircles the eight lug nuts. The spring tension on the ring provides friction to hold the cap on.



My Rickson wheels attach with the same original factory lug nuts, and my factory center caps work perfectly with them.



If you install wheels that have a different shape around the lug nuts, it's possible that the factory caps will not go on. I would think, though, that any wheel that uses the factory lug nuts will probably accept the factory center caps.

I saw it done on a 3500 with Alcoa aftermarket wheels and the stock center cap. Didn't look all that groovy, but to each his own.
