I noticed last night that under full throttle and high RPM's I can see some visible exhaust particulate in 2nd and 3rd gear. I can only see it at night looking in the mirror with a vehicle behind me such that his headlights are illuminating the particulate matter hanging in the air. I can't say if it's white/blue/black or what. It isn't visible in 4th or higher, I imagine because the increased windspeed dissipates it quicker. I've never noticed any smoke in daylight.
Has anyone else noticed this? I didn't think stock trucks were supposed to smoke at all. Maybe Cummins put 275's in my engine by accident, that would also explain why I got 248HP on the dyno on 2 separate runs. Or maybe my VP44 has problems and is overfueling the truck
. Or maybe it's oil blowby and I have a ring seal problem or worse
. Or maybe I should just keep my eyes on the road ahead under full throttle and not worry about it
.
