I painted all the rusty parts on my 99 like the driveshafts, axle housings etc... . truck looked like new the whole time I had it underneath.

Just don't paint over painted surfaces.

How much surface prep did you actually have to do ?

Did you brush it or spray it on ?

Thanks

No prep to the rust, other than cleaning it getting the dirt and such off, and or any oils, grease etc..... I'd wipe it down with thinner or wash it real good with simple grean first.

Under side rust is an issue with all trucks and while some do not care, some do, I guess i am one that does. The ugliset spot is the drive shafts. Thoes I wire brushed very well, and then wiped down with paint thinner and painted with a quality paint, and then live'n them up with decals (it's a weakness I have, Dr's haven't found a quire). The rest of the underbody, front and rear axle, springs, hanger, sway bars, frame rails, ect... . seem to do good with a good cleaning and a shot of Black semi-gloss. This color combo seems to match the factory color very closely and blends in great.

The front end components have all been cleaned and painted, seems to stay clean once done.
