Love my Prodigy! Have used other controllers and nothing came close. Have not used brakesmart though, so I don't know how they compare.

Buy the "Prodigy" I have owned a number of others and would buy the prodigy again. Camping World usually has the best deal when they have them on sale.

I currently have a Prodigy from my old truck and it worked better than any previous controller I've owned. I pull a 14,000 40' toy hauler in the mountains of Colorado and do like the way the accelerometer applys the trailer brakes first with just the touch of the brakes when going downhill. Does the Brakesmart respond the same way? I am considering this controller in my new 08 DRW megacab.

P. S. Can't wait to try the factory exhaust brake/Cummins/6 speed auto combo compared to my old F350 PS w/US Gear exhaust brake! Come on camping season!
