Right brake /signal wire remains hot on trailer plug all the time. The right signal nor brake lights on the truck are lit. Doesn't matter if truck is running or not. I've got a modulite but it's been installed for 6 months and this problem just started a week ago. Any ideas?

The 12v in the receptacle is at 2:00 o'clock and the right turn/stop is at 3:00 o'clock next to each other, might be a bent terminal or some corrosion in the rear of the receptacle causing this. bg

That's true, but it is ALSO made from CHEAP Hecho in China circuit boards that can and probably DO fail, just like the Brite Box for forward lighting control also CAUSED lighting issues on some trucks. NOT saying it IS the Modulite, just that you might get a more accurate diagnosis WITHOUT the modulite hooked-up.

Kind of like diagnosing engine problems with a performance box on, it is simplest and best to first remove the aftermarket add-on to see if that is the cause of the problem.

Just my . 02...

Check the wires going into the modulite. If those check out fine the its probably not a TIPM issue and the modulite is done.

I don't know how to post a schematic here but in short, you would use 4 relays. You would use the trailer charge wire for their supply power (the 12V that actually powers each circuit) and use the trucks Left, Right, Running and Backup light circuits to turn on their respective relay. That way all the current that the trailer uses is powered by the charge circuit. A 10 or 15 amp fuse would be added to the output of each relay.
Really no different from using a relay to power driving lights, etc.
