Competition LOOK at this!

Competition Dyno at Nashville

Had another one today, after visiting with a friend another guy calls him so he tells him about my truck... . keep in mind these are powerstroke chip guys. So they show up in a 01' or 02' Ford Lightning, chipped, pulley's ect. so we go out for it... . I realize I'm going to get my butt stomped here, we take off and I'm in my worse spot, 2nd gear low rpm, lag is really there then she comes on like he!! and I'm trough the gears with the converter locked and about 70 MPH I'm pulling hard on him as he is about 3 trucks in front, I pass him at 90-95 then we shut it off at 110(on a 2 lane black top) yea I went around him but it took a while and he handed me my ass from the start.

Buddy hadn't ridden in the truck since I slide the factory plate and installed the GSK so he didn't I had "woke it up a little" :-laf

I said c'mon lets run'n 'em down the by pass... him driving a late 90's Ranger 2wd 5spd V-6 Ext. Cab

He laughs but agree's... .....

choked on his words AND smoke @ 90 seeing as he couldn't keep up!

What a wonderful sound to hear a guy who's CB handle is fordboy annoucing to the whole town over the CB that he can't keep up with a DODGE! I'm not gonna let him forget that for a while, but he's gonna get a ride when the #10 goes in!:D

Got Smoke?: Your story conjures up mental images of Bo and Luke Duke... . not to mention Daisy, Cleatus, Cooter, Boss Hogg, Flash the police Basset Hound, and many more.

Hmm. I never got far past the image of Daisy Duke. Or certain parts thereof. :D

I was never a fan of Daisy... . her voice cut through me like a knife... kinda like Fran Dreschner (sp?) from that crappy old TV show "The Nanny".

The squealing tires on dirt and impossible landings with a unibody car are the best parts of that show.

Dukes...

Just met a great guy a few weeks ago, who by the way is a huge diesel truck fan, who has the Original First General Lee ever used in the show. It is the original car that was white in the first episode and painted Orange half way through the show. It is in perfect, as seen on the show, condition. Said it took him almost 15 years to find it and has been offered over $500K for it several times.

It is sitting in his garage right next to one of the original Night Rider "Kit" Trans Ams.

How cool is that???Oo.

Hate to break it to ya but he fed you a bunch of BS on that General Lee car. Its probably just another replica. In the very FIRST episode of Dukes of Hazzard titled "One Armed Bandits" the General Lee is already painted complete with numbers, flag, lettering, and cross flags on the back deck in front of the CB antenna.

Now in a later episode titled "Happy Birthday General Lee" its a recolection of how the boys came to get the General. It was originally a solid black charger used in a bank hold up in capitol city, but the sheriff ran it off the road and it was towed to a junkyard where the boys found it. ;) :D

Can ya tell I'm a Dukes Fan?:-laf

I WILL own a replica someday. :{

Wow...

Wow Mark, you are a true Dukes fan...

I apologize, I was just stating what he told me. He said he bought it out of a collection of cars that John Schneider had. He even had pictures of himself and John when he bought the car, so there is some truth to it being a real car.

He said a bunch of the TV cars weren't even painted on both sides. Just quickly painted up for certain scenes. The rollbars in the show cars were just exhaust tubing cut and welded.

I thought it was kinda cool. The only car that he still is trying to track down is the original American Grifitti 1932 Ford Coupe.

Well there is some truth in there somewhere then! :-laf

Yeah a lot of the cars were just done very quickly for close ups and such, and he is right on the money about the roll bars just being exhaust tubing covered in foam for the "close up" cars. The rear jump cars of course had full cages that you can see in many episodes if you look closely. :D
