Stuck in four wheel low

Okay guys here is what happened, was unloading the truck camper, put it in four wheel low as there is not much room with the hips. Pull out and I notice a CEL and it is stuck in four wheel low. #@$%! the four wheel low is flashing on the dash and turning the dash switch does nothing. #@$%! If you change it to four wheel high the four wheel low just keeps flashing, same with two wheel drive. #@$%! Oh for the lever on the floor.

Try key on-engine off in neutral and see what it does. Any chance you pulled the code?

you need to be in neutral pretty much at a stop (less than 2 mph), for it to go into and out of 4low. otherwise it wont engage and it flashes, cause its waiting on you.

Thanks, I tried the neutral thing and it worked on the second try. I guess that I am just too use to pushing in the clutch and moving a floor mounted shifter. This truck is going to be a learning experience for this old guy.

The floor mount shifter is definitely better, but they're harder to find. If I had it to do over again, I'd get a floor shift, manual transmission 3500 instead of the flip-switch auto 2500.
