I just bought another one from VDO that Dresslered (David) was using and sure enough the sending unit fit right in the top of the oil filter location. Used the same wires and I believe the gauge is a better quality and the lights are better. Mine now reads just under 200 degrees. I strongly suggest changing gauges as the ISSPRO did not work correctly for what ever reason.

I got the new Oil temp gauge from DIS tonight and I wired it in, but no beans still. I ran a new hot wire and a new ground and both of those good, so it must be a problem along the lead wire. My thought is that I have the 1/8 NPT from Genos and it comes with like 20 gauge wire leads. The leads are only about 2' long though so I crimped these leads to an 18 gauge wire which might be too much resistance.

The real bummer is that the sending unit that comes with the gauge is 1/4" NPT, which won't fit in the hole above the filter so unless I find somewhere else to put it, I'll have to figure something else out.

I did get a new EGT gauge and it works awesome so I'm pumped about that. DIS really does people right, I'll always buy stuff from them in the future.

Mark, did you just replace the gauge? I had the same problem with mine. DIS sent a new unit, and I isolated it to the gauge.

You mean the EGT right? If yes, then I just replaced the gauge and the problem is fixed. I'm about to go cruise the 202 now and burn up some concrete watching the needle.

Got my EGT to work and my oil temp gauge. . Turns out the oil temp was the sending unit. Cool now that all 3 gaugess work!!

OOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Just to throw in my late 2 cents... I worked in instrumentation for years and a thermocouple works by joining two dissimilar metals which will produce a small voltage at the junction. This voltage is proportional to the junction temperature. If anyone applied 12 volts to the EGT gauge they probably fried it because it is extremely sensitive to voltage changes. Anywho, glad you got it working...

I'm sure the 12V didn't help it, but it was misbehaving before I hooked it up to the battery.

This is the 2nd bad gauge I've gotten from ISSPRO so I'm not surprised.
