Is it possible to suck bubbles caused by fueling the tank into the injection pump if the engine is left running while filling up?

don't know , i always have the truck running when i fill , and i run my tank pretty low . the way the pickup is setup , stock that is , i believe that its always in fuel , so should not be a worry .

No. The pickup is near the bottom of the tank. Like carbonated water, there can be residual tiny stuff but no worry.

Glad to hear that it is ok to fill 'er up while running; this is easier then letting it idle for 3 minutes and watching a motorhome take your spot at the diesel pump...
