Camper Weight Distribution

Planning to spend last two weeks of January and month of February 2010 in the Big Bend area of Texas. Will be coming in from Del Rio. Anyone have some suggestions about RV Parks?

RV Park Reviews :: Home

There are a couple of state parks with RV campgrounds but I've never stayed in them and don't know about availability of space. Winter is the big tourist season in the Texas Big Bend so could be crowded.

Yes watch out for black ICE if you go up in to the park. I almost lost it coming out in the morring. I still do not know how I got down with out lossing it. GOOD LUCK --------BLACK ICE

I graduated from Sul Ross State University in Alpine which is just North of Big Bend many years ago. My wife was raised in Alpine and is also a SRSU graduate. We went back last summer for the first time in many years. We were in the car and did not take our trailer but did check out one RV park in case we ever wanted to take the trailer to Alpine. That park was the Lost Alaskan and it seemed to be a nice park and a lot larger than we expected in such a small town. You may be interested in a RV park that is actually in Big Bend, but only noticed one the day we went to the park last summer and a lot of the spaces were small but not sure if there are other parks. Just my view here, I'd much rather stay in Alpine, Marfa or Ft. Davis than in the park. PM me and I'll give you my phone number if you would like to chat about the area, but have to admit I know very little about the park. Never went there in the four years I spent in Alpine as a student as I "studied' all the time.

Crow - - We prettty much decided to stay in the Alpine area, maybe Woodward Ranch in BrewsterCounty looked at Lost Alaskan, it's also a possibility then visit BB on a daily basis - - willl PM you in January when we get a little closer - - probably be in that area in late January

Theres a great RV park in Study Butte, Stayed there last march. Alpine is a great place, but about 80 miles from the park entrance.
