I am considering Sulastic SA-07HD 3/4 shackles for my 2016 3500 Ram 6-1/2’ CC SRW. Because of fifth wheel trailer hitch height, I do not want to increase the rear ride height. I would even by happy with lowering it by an inch. Comments I read vary from no increase to an increase of an inch or so. I am trying to find the following information; What is the effective length of the Sulastic shackle (mounting bolt center to center distance) at both unloaded (with truck weight, but no load) and then at the Sulastic full load stops. It looks to me as though the OE shackles have a 4-5/8” length. I am curious how the Sulastic SA-07HD ¾ shackle lengths compares to this, as that should determine the change in ride height.

Dont forget that Ram changed to a tension shackle on the 3500's in 2013 so a longer shackle would lower the truck where on a pre 13 in would raise it.

not related to the shackles, but can you still do a reverse level on 13+ 3500 trucks? The three spacers/shims between the bottom leaf and the axle perch can be moved to the top of the spring pack to lower the bed height. IIRC the shims are 3/8" or so, so you can move one or all to bring the truck rear end down a bit.

Did you install the Sulastic? Did it raise the ride height?

I did not install Sulastics. I tried multiple times to contact them directly (phone & email) to find out the length and i never received a response. So, their customer service dampened my interest in them. What I did learn was that about 2 out 3 people said they slightly raised and 1 out of 3 said no effect. I did also have some people tell me that they thought the ride improvement that they originally felt, seemed to be less as time passed. Makes me wonder if they have a limited life.

10 year limited warranty. I noticed better ride after towing a gooseneck once. I think because it forced them to travel through their full range of motion for a few hours. Still ride well after 4 years. Not towing heavy since the gooseneck.
