Well, I FINALLY remembered to ask about the video. He said that sometimes he does have to open them up like you did, particularly when they have a mirror that requires him to split it apart to remove it. But, when he recovered mine, he wrapped the cover material around the visor, glued it around the edges, sewed it together, then stuffed it in between the halves with a putty knife. He did not separate the plastic like you did. Mine had the lit vanity mirrors that came out without having to split it.
Mirror is on both sides, non-lighted. I might have enough material left after basically wasting a good amount trying. The OEM color was a tannish color. I ordered some material online that is a decent match, but not perfect. I am actually trying to match the current headliner color done a few years back by a shop that is no longer in business, so getting exact material brand and color is a guess. If there isn't enough material, I can provide the vendor and part number. I could also order it, but shipping to me and then shipping to Roger, so that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The intent at the time was to match the OEM headliner when it was rebuilt, so I suppose matching what is currently on the visors would probably work too and he may actually have a material in stock that is close enough. When he did yours, did he remove all the original material before placing the new, or did he just cover over the old?Yes, I was pleased with Roger’s work. He’s done upholstery for over 40 years. I’m sure he’d do yours. What color are yours, gray or tan? Do you have material? What’s your mirror look like?
