Yes, Fedex runs a lot of recaps on the front even. The rear are mostly bald.

I don't have any trucks new enough to have disk brakes on the rear. The front rotors on the '01 are original, 364k miles, the '91 I changed rotors at 280k, it has 334k now. That's what I was talking about with an exhaust brake, the brakes last forever.

I do understand that rear disks are prone to road spray/contamination from the front wheels so they have a tendency to wear faster than the front.

My rear drums and brakes are both original, I have changed seals once, each.

That's another thing I didn't consider drum brakes, I was assuming disc brakes front and rear I should've given more contextual reference in the first post. But that's a valid point the longevity is very different on drums versus disc and impressive when paired with an exhaust brake.

Over 100k on my 04, never needed brake front or rear!... Put the PRXB on day 1.

Have you even re-greased the slide pins or changed the hardware? I was under the impression that semi metallic pads were higher preforming but shorter lived due to the aggressiveness of materials. I expected 50-70K. That's pretty stellar then as far as brakes go.

How long would you estimate pads and rotors to last on a dually towing consistently without an exhaust brake?

Well, I now have a 20' AISIN auto, so not the same, but I used my NV5600 and a combination of gears and EB and never needed pads and mostly towing my 15k 5r.... I bought it @92k miles and sold it at 195 and other than checking them, they were good... I degreased the rears when I did brgs on the 11.5 at 150K, but that's it. I am runnning EB all the time, abeit I like the new "auto" mode.

Let me share my numbers here. Note, these are regular 19.5 tires, not super singles.

My truck was originally a DRW, I now run it SRW on 19.5s. I am running Hankook AH11 tires on the front axle and Hankook DH01 tires on the rear, all in 265/70R19.5. The AH11 tires are rated at 5510 lbs each as SWR, and the DH01 tires are rated at 5070 lbs as SRW. So that gives me enough tire on the rear for 10140 lbs.

I never weighed the old 17 inch tire/wheel combination, but the 19.5 ones weigh in around 160 lbs, each. That is my only complaint with these. I can change the rear tires relatively easily because there is that big hub sticking out so I put the wheel on the hub then line up the bolt holes. On the fronts, it's much more difficult since the wheel lugs stick out farther than the center hub on the front axle. You have to line up the wheel holes with the lugs while lifting the tire. I am considering getting some free spin hubs just for that reason.

My truck has 4.10 axle gearing, with the 19.5s it works out to be almost identical to stock wheels at 3.92.

Oh, and they fit fine with no rubbing whatsoever, front or back.
