Just sitting here thinking today. How much would a supercharger have to be overdriven to provide enough boost to be benificial to our engines. Also, what about using a compressor from a large turbo for the supercharger.

Piers had a thread about 6mo. ago w/some pics of a supercharger feeding (we think) a turbo/turbos. I think he was just playing around but there were numerous negative comments and I have seen no updates on the project. It sure would be nice to idle at 6-8blbs boost and still support 50lbs.

vgt/vnt is all you need... the turbos are out there in newer OTR engines [i drool over the one on the new series 60 detroit] but the electronics to control them is the problem. . once someone figures that out, :D:D:D:D

[them turbos with the turbine tightened down, will make boost at idle ;)]

I read somewhere that the ATS MST can be adjusted for boost at idle, 1-2 psi if I remember. Its still not out though yet they advertise it.

Yeah, they have been advertising that baby for at least 6-8mo. It must not be that easy to design a variable turbo that is durable. Isn't Ford about to go with twins on the P. S ? They had nothing but problems with their variable turbo.

I think it's already a done deal for 07. I don't know what the hold up is on the MST, it's design looks simple and reminds me of a power valve on a small 2 stroke engine.

lol yes ford is going w/ a twins setup for the new 6. 4 but even tho they are having loads of problems w/ the variable vane i heard (not totaly relaible) that they will have a vgt primary and a big secondary not sure exactly how true it is but we'll see.

on another note that new 6. 7 has a vgt by holset. and doesn't banks offer one on the dodge/cummins sidwinder trucks they sell
