Surprised a few at the drag strip tonight.

Went to the street legal drags tonight and counting me there were only 2 diesels running. A 4x4 Duramax with a chip and a six speed. The first time I beat him by a truck and 1/2 length, but he was catching up fast. The other four times, I could beat him to about the 3/4 way mark, then he would pass me easily. Beat me by about a truck length each time. I just didn't have enough to hold him off in the end. (He was launching in 2wd. )

Another kid, in what he referred to as a pumped up Chevy S-10, said he has beat diesels before. He got his rear handed to him by at least 3 truck lengths. Same thing with a lowered VW Jetta. Even though his exhaust tip was bigger then mine.

They were not using a time clock, so I'm not sure what my ET was. I was running consistently at about 88 mph according to my speedometer. This is a 8 mph improvement over 80 mph runs I made the last time I went. I changed fuel plate, injectors and dv's. EGT's were about 1400* on each pass.

A buddy of mine was there so I gave him a ride. He weighs about 275. My time slipped to about 85 mph. We went up against a older RX7 twice. Each time my front bumper was at his passenger door all the way down the track. I think without my buddy in the truck I could have beat him.

Even though I didn't beat them all, I got a thumbs up from a lot of people who were pleasantly suprised to see a 6900# 2wd peg leg fighting to the finish.

If STOMP goes I'll make the trip. We have something to settle. And this time we can settle it on my playground, the 1320ft of blacktop. Moo HA HAAH AAAA HHAAAAA (evil laugh)

Well I know the track officials and I am pretty sure that your pickup wouldn’t pass the inspection Winspeed. Also a no show/not passing the inspection means I win right? Moo HA HAAH AAAA HHAAAAA. :-laf Naw just giving you a bad time. So why is it that you always have to pick on us under valved guys????? Plus all I have is this little itty bitty rotory pump you know they are only good for about 300hp right? I wouldn’t stand a chance. ;)

On a serious note I would love to see you make it up here and play with the locals. I already know that my pickup is unworthy to run against yours, but they won’t have a clue. I also know of a certain Viper that needs a whooping, I don’t think my pickup would be able to do it, but I am most certain that you would hand him his @$$. If you ever do make it up this way let me know.

Tell you what we race for a case of beer and the looser (Stomp) gets to help the winner (Winspeed) drink it.

Stomp

street race

Why don't you have all challengers hook up to a 10k trailer and try the quarter ? Better yet try a run on 299 to Redding and back. stormy
