Competition Race Schedule 2003

Competition Stock DuraMax VS My Dodge Ram DieselRig

I had a good one yesterday, i was driving home from Fla on I77,lots of hills, and impatient drivers. Im cruising at 72-75 like 95% of everyone else. Along comes a brand new Maixma,3. 5,pretty quick cars at 260Hp. I drive with the Comp off,so if I need it,i turn it on,its always on 5x5. I see him coming up quick, i got a feeling hes going to cut me off,i stab the comp on,and get ready. Guy gets up next to me,there isnt enough room to safely pull in in front of me,but he decides hes going to do it anyway. I gently roll into it,just to keep him from cutting me off,he dont like that,I back off,car in front gets off exit,he puts it to the floor,I follow,Bye bye Maxima. It dont take long to hit 100 with the Ram. This guy's look was priceless,he had to try again, same thing, i let off let him in,he shook his head at me,and never seen him again. I had a Dmax try me on the way down, didnt even bother to turn on the Comp, just slowly pulled away with the injectors alone:D . Street racing, well I am generally good, but there are times i cant resist. I got a yuppie in his brand new Z3 convertible, supposed to run 14. 1's,well it wasnt fast enough,He was revvign at the light,i slipped in into 4wd,prodded at him,and built some boost,When the light turned he started spinning em,i launched and immediately got 2 cars on him,by 60 ish it had grown to 3+ and I was still pulling slightly:D .

If that doesn't work, then there is always the nitrous, but I have never used it on the street..... yet.

Just curious your 12. 87, is that using the nitrous, or was that diesel only? Just curious, trying to keep track if anyone in a 24v has run 12. 9x on a single turbo, diesel only... thats my goal... for now when the tracks reopen.

I had to show one the other day, he was acting like a jackass driver on the freeway cutting people off and what not, so he cut me off and took off, so I was like lets play (Sunday morning about 7am ... ) so into Level II goes the COMP... I slowly catch him... ... . and get behind him, sure enough he trys to "run away" like I figured, so I jut give it some fuel and I follow... ... now in Level II I wasn't really gaining that I could tell but he certaintly wasn't pulling away, I saw him kept checking his rearview... ... I stopped at 110mph when I notice the speedo. So We both slow down... and we get a clear spot again, so I figured ok enough playin... pop it in level 5..... get over pull up next to him, watch him try to run away again..... floored it..... damn near left him sitting still and let off about 105mph this time... . he was a considerable distance behine me, I even skipped my normal exit for this and went down two further exits. Needless to say made my Sunday morening after work.

Man, I swear. I cannot go a tank of diesel w/o racing someone. I try to get good fuel mileage, but it NEVER happens. One time I got 15mpg, but it usually gets 12. Last night I smoked an Acura CL, a chevy pick-up wanted some today, the list goes on, and I just CANNOT say no.

I've been getting 16mpg since I had the cam changed. This last tank was 15. 2 tho, the station I use finally went to a blend of diesel for winter. SO I might be stuck in the 15's for fuel milage.

Now what I cannot understand, and correct me if I am wrong... I start a thread on "Great Smoke Stories" Which is along the same lines as this thread, but jeez... some of the people were chewing my rear about saying how my truck smokes, and how I love it. . Dont get me wrong, I know with a comp on 5x5, it smokes something fierce... Is there something I am missing here?   Y'all go dig up that thread, and there are some great stories there too. .

Smoke is different, sorta

It's just incidental to racing, but a real smoke story is when you intentionally fog someone. (I like launching in 3rd).

I remember the thread. Some folks don't like smoke for smoke's sake. But that's okay. I do.

Just like street racing is dangerous and illegal. I choose to take the risk every now and then. Some folks wouldn't.

Well, at least I am not the only one who looks in the mirror and :D :-laf When I see all my hard work is actually visible when I step on the go pedal. . Thanks for letting me know I am not the only TDR member who likes smoke (On the streets). Yes, sometimes it gets rather annoying, but thats ok... live with it! hehe

Charlan- I am w/ you I love my smoke. When I take people for rides at night I tell them to look in the mirror and watch the car's headlights disappear! I also love interstate ramps at full throttle. That always gets looks from people. Oh and Kat, I pull a 3000-4500lb trailer about 65% of the time, but you would think my fuel mileage would be higher???

Spanked a z-28!!

I had a Z-28 camero tailgating me this morning I was already going 55 in a 40 zone. Well, the road opens up into two lanes and this guy pulls a couple of jerk moves cutting in and out of traffic. I followed him two lights past my turn just to look for a red light for us. Well, for once I get lucky. I just sat there waiting for the light to change holding about 6-7 pounds of boost. This caused him to rev his engine! To make a long story short, light goes green, I make a clean start, camero dumps his clutch and starts spinning, I get about i car length at the start and end up with about 3 car lenghts by the time i hit 80mph. He had to of been ******! :D :D :D

I am soo excited!!!:D I thought maby i was biteing off more than i could chew on this one!... Aparently not.

I am going to ask santa to bring me some super mentals, so next time I wolnt have question whether i should take them on!

I just had some guy in a saturn try to race his little car with my big bad billy goat... he had been tailgating me for about 5 miles, so we got to a 4 way stop. . we both turn left, and it opens up to 2 lanes. . I get to the stop sign, and he pulls up next to me as I begin taking off... then he just tries to give his best impression of a burnout. I just :-laf , at which time, I decide it is time to wake the HX40 and the 10 plate... she spools up to around 20 and we begin walking off... . this is not enough, so I mash it down all the way, and get about a 15 car length holeshot with about 42 psi... never saw the moron again! guess he has some new respect for CTD's!

I finally got to fulfill one of my dreams today... a yellow Viper came flying up on my tail, and got the best layer of soot on his hood I have given in a while!! It was priceless! I saw it coming from a ¼ mile back! he comes up close enough to get the DIESEL INNOVATIONS phone number (Small print) off my tailgate. I burp out a little smoke as to send out the first signal. No luck... The girlfriend insisted that I turn up the 10 plate to 5x5 :D and turn a canary yellow into a darker shade of old yeller. . she gave the signal, I mashed the smoke generator pedal, and out comes Mr. Black cloud, and away we go! The whole time, she is watching in the convex mirror, :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf her @-- off, while mr wannabe bigshot in the viper was  :--) he came flying by, then got stuck behind some more cars, and whaddya know?? stuck behind ol' smoky billy goat once again! this time he wised up, or maybe it was his girlfriend in the shotgun seat. he kept his distance, as if to say he liked the darker shade of yellow, and did not want to make it any darker! when we jumped off the highway, just :p :-laf at him for underestimating how well I can do color modifications while in transport!! I guess he wont be flying up on anymore CTD's in the near future!

i wish I could say we beat a sports car. Tonight coming home from Salt Lake riding with my roommate in a 98 ctd edged 5 speed. We were playing with a black talon. We thought it was a simple car but he didn't like smoke. He pulled up beside us doing about 80 and left us sitting there. he had to of hit 120mph wiht a couple car lengths. Sounded like he had a turbo and nos. He never did get behind us again for some more smoke.

Guess its time for more HP in that 98. 5! get some Bullydog DD3's, HX40, and a Comp Box... then let us know how far you get on him!

-Chris-

454 just ain't big enough

So I see this Suburban spin his tires a bit (wet roads). And he's got a "454" hitch plug and all sorts of chromey stuff and big tires on it. So we're headed the same direction and I'm a following. ;)

Traffic holds us up at the start of the three-lane UP THE HILL. Finally he jumps out in the right lane and I follow. I keep up as he guns it on up past 80. I then take the left lane and cruise up beside him, lift, punch 5x5 and walked that lil' ole 5. 9 right past him. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Another Chubby guy scratching his head tonight.

Two recent stories for me.

First one was a car that was so close to my rear I couldn't see the headlights (let along what kind of GM it was). It was rush-hour traffic (for around here) and we were going the speed limit. I kept my following distance where it should be, but she just was either drafting me, or trying to push me along. Either way, after about two miles of this I got irritated and turned on the FMS (always set to kill). I centered my tailpipe on her car, left it in OD, and smashed the pedal for about 5 seconds. She got the hint.

The second was a Toyota T-100 V8. We left form a light and really started to lay on it. It was kinda one of those, "I didn't know we were racing. " deals. He got the jump on me and by the time I started to get her wound up (FMS off), I was doing 40 in a 30 and entering a hospital zone with lots of cross walks. I threw out the boat anchor and thought better of doing something like this in this zone. So he beat me. Although I'm sure he went through the cross walks at better than 50 mph (30 mph limit). Oh well. I don't mind losing this one. Just let me catch him on a stretch of better road (with a higher limit).
