I was part of the NETDP group that literally smoked out an entire street after a dyno show in RI... ...



The smoke was so bad I could not see the two heavily fueled trucks ahead of me..... darn PigPen!! :-laf



One guy was in his yard and was waving his hands around as if a swarm of rabid bees was attacking him. It was hilarious! And then there were these two gals walking down the sidewalk, etc.....

Yeah I was part of that same group. How about the video I made of Pigpen practically stopping Rt. 95 traffic when I was behind him filming his soot cloud ! If that doesn't warrant an Emmy, I don't know what does!

Yeah I let him beat me. But there are ALOT of people that cross at those crosswalks and I didn't want to be party to a vehicular manslaughter charge. I'm sure I'll catch him in a little better environment some other time. Just a bad time and place to pick to do something like this.

YESSS! FINALLY!!!



A PS Ford got on my tail tonight and I smoked, he smoked, we all smoked--and I left him in the cloud. SCHWEET.



I guess he got tired of staring at my "Cummins" tailgate and might have seen my gauges while we waited to get onto the on-ramp. We would have had a clean run down the ramp, but a big-rig merges in from the other direction and then our ramp narrows to one lane and the I-road is only two lanes. So when I finally am able to determine that I can take the left lane of interstate, he's all over my bumper and I still don't even know what it is. So I fumble with the UFM, put my foot UP IN the VP and away we go! I'm looking back and I'm dumping smoke and he's pouring smoke out too. I'll bet the truck driver got a kick out of it. Anyway when my poor, weak, mistreated clutch took hold, I was gone. I stayed into it for a bit for good measure.



Eventually (I practically had to park) he caught back up and only then did I KNOW it was a PSD-dually and probably 4WD. So he was a bit heavier. I rolled down the window and waved and he revved up the mighty awesome V8.



Later down the road with less traffic, I rolled back up on him and made a bad shift (shouldn't have shifted). Soon as I got back in 6, he slipped backwards way fast.



I guess somefordbody has been putting a leetle too much stock in all those fancy TV ads. He had to be stock, it was way easy.

I got an RX7 last night, on my way to Austin. . I was cruising in MY lane, the left lane, when out of nowhere these headlights get on my tail... I look, analyze, make sure they are not Crown Victoria headlights, and It's on! At first, I gave a little smoke signal, as to drop a hint... no worky... so he goes to pass me in the right lane, a Peterbilt 359 is in the middle lane, and when I came around the other side of that truck, I noticed the car was a bit smaller in the mirror than first off! he has no more gas pedal, and I am almost at 3k, but still holding strong, all the way along! I noticed then that I should crank up the 10 plate to 5x5 ... . This dude was so by now, and I was just :-laf :-laf since he was where he belonged: BEHIND ME! haha, anyways, it was fun for me, I dont think it was so much fun for him to breathe all that sooted air, but thats ok. . I am sure he has new respect for CTD's!

Yeah you saw the video at Scott's. You remember, it was the one that I had made with the dude in the Stop & Shop parking lot coming over to see if Mike Dez's shop was on fire because of all the black smoke emminating out of it! That fine footage was then followed up by the Pigpen soot show as I carefully filmed him as I followed behind him on Rt. 95. Unfortunetly, I no longer have this footage. Probably a good thing as I'm sure that it in some jurisdicitons this could probably be construed as illegal behavior. Someone accidently taped over it at the Coastal Truck Nationals the following day.

It's okay... we'll get PigPen or someone else to do something similar to that someday.



Watch out for the twin-turbo RX-7's... . they are light... and make good power stock... . BOMBed = even better. The older ones are weak... .

I had an 87 RX-7 Turbo II. For 182 hp that thing didn't feel too weak to me. Off the line it was a sled ( 0 torque), but on the open road it cooked. Hearing the over rev buzzer as the tach needle swung past 7500 rpm was pure bliss, however. Fun little car.

I meant to mention the mid-high end on these cars..... they go good once you get 'em going.



You gotta watch that you don't overboost the Wankels... . you'll chew up a set of apex seals in no time.



I raced one stoplight to stoplight a long time ago and I ate it. If we were on the highway he would have eaten me.



Adam Saruwatari (sp?) races a new bodystyle RX-7... . he's in the 9's last time I checked.

Was it a turbo? I don't think my truck would beat one off the line unless I launched in 4wd. Of course the 40 takes a couple of seconds to wake up anyway...

I doubt it was turbo... . it was some guy in a sorta beat up one - he thought it was fast.



Get some NOS, it'll spool ANY turbo or combination of turbos.

You hit the nail right on the head. I am at a performance enhancement crossroads right now with this particular truck. I am not sure what I want to do next. I knew I shouldn't have gone for a death ride in PigPen's truck a while back, because instantly mine felt like stock again !

PigPen's truck hauls some serious butt for a shadetree truck... . he has spent very little to get where he's at. The coolest part is that he is crazy enough to try darn near anything... . being innovative is where it's at.
