I looked at mine 20-5029-1 I guess thats the bad one?
Well. . that is the older harness number, I am not sure if that means its bad or not but they may send you the -2 harness if you ask.

I finally got mine installed as I had to wait for a missing control switch.

One thing I noticed is that where the harness connects to the box it is possible to plug it in without having the connector "snap" into its place and lock in. There is a little interference with the box housing. It's possible the fellas that are having trouble are not getting that connector to snap into is place and is working loose.

I had to file a little notch into the box to allow the plug to get the plug to insert fully - but i had to do this with the first harness.

I agree that its not necessarily the ... -1 harness that is bad.

I've been having a few issues with mine - but they tend to resolve themself:confused:

Saturday night I was leaving a toll plaza on the 100 setting, accelerated to around 80 set the cruise. All seemed fine and the truck bucked like my t-pump was gone, then ran fine. Bucked once more, check engine came on, I killed the cruise and reset it, ran fine all the way home. Check engine light goes off after about 300 miles. All connections seem to be properly installed. Other than that I love it. Averaging 18. 8mpg empty and planning on stepping up to the HTB2.

Quadzilla Great Service

Wow! Fantastic customer service and support from Quadzilla. They have worked with me the last few weeks to resolve the problem I was having. they had me send the whole unit in for a check after trying a new harness and sent me a whole new package right down to to the velcro patch, alchohol swab, wire ties, decals and the start of a new warranty period. nice new box btw very nice package. they really stand behind their product. THANK-YOU QUADZILLA!!

Tried hooking up my quad box today, took it off when i went in for service.

truck ran great for 15 min or so then surging came back and got a code P0193. :{

Mine did the surge thing the other day. . it was right after a WOT run and then at idle it was surging kinda like a dog panting, maybe it was tired?

Thats what mine did the first time I hooked it up it ran fine for a few days then started to idle up and down then it went away for a few days and did it again, this time it started to do the same thing and sounded like my old 98 dodge ,got real loud clank clank clank I liked the way it sounded but something was wrong. took box off truck ran and sounded fine.

Changing settings while at a stop didn't make a change but I did find that when I shut it off and then restarted, it was all ok. Guess I rebooted it.

Allrighty.....

So I'm not the only one with that problem. When mine does it it loses power. Can't make more than 10 psi boost or 700 deg EGT, got 2 codes Boost pressure sensor LOW and Fuel rail pressure LOW. It used to go away when I shut it down and restarted, but now it doesn't, the only way to cure it is to bypass the box. At first it occured only ocasonally, now it is very frequent.

 Fireman

Since I put on the new harness, all has been fine. Like Task 125, mine originally started when I removed everything for dealer service. Next time I go in, mine is staying in... ...

I have a Juice and I'm having the same issues. Died going down the road, started back up again after about 3secs. Got a new box. Now surging with cruise and idle bouncing. Another new box is on it's way. Maybe it's just the connections. I'll have to recheck those all again

Not trying to hijack a Quad-based thread, just letting you guys know you are not alone. Thanks for all the info.

Task 125

Let us know what you find out. All I have gotten from Quadzilla is "try this" ... . "try that"..... it's getting frustrating.

Fireman

just got a call from Qzilla, the switch was bad,it kept switching from setting to setting, most have driven computer nuts,

Well, after having the new wiring harness on for 4+ months, my surge issue came back again yesterday morning. And wouldn't you know, it happened while I was driving a couple co-workers and myself to a conference! Talk about a panic situation on my part - 5:30 AM and 45 miles from home and work and my "good" truck (as they call it), starts to die on the road. I limped it to the conference center, and pulled the wiring harness off. Ran just fine after that. I'd been noticing bad fuel mileage for a about 2 weeks also. I wonder if my truck's connectors, like being high on the tolerances, that the stock connection can compensate for, which quad's cant.

ps. On edit. This thing is a DOG without the box!

I put dielectric on mine about a month ago. Didnt help. I've had it die on me in traffic 3 time since then.

hmmm... just looked at the other Quad thread. I dont have a CB, My box is inside the cab, and I have one of the new harnesses. But I DO have one of the original boxes with the "too small" hole - but I cleared that myself. The fix every single time has been to just wiggle either the pressure or timimg connectors. It hasnt been consistently one or the other.
