Terry, Good luck to you with your treatment. Keep your head up and think positively, I know many people who have beaten the odds. Thanks for all the great advice and your contribution to this Forum. You are in my thoughts.

Best Regards, Ross Marcotte

Terry, good luck and try to stay positive, hard though it may be. They say attitude goes a long way, but there is only so much to be done with optimism; sometimes you just have to leave it in the hands of someone else.

HFletcher- I was thinking the same thing about you the other day- but Terry beat me to it, so I wont reiterate (repeat, only phrased differently) what he said. I will add that mysteryman has a lot of knowledge and info from his years designing and working on these trucks, and people have paid dearly through out history for knowledge of one sort or another. The fact you come in here looking for a steal of a bargain on any part you may be able to get ahold of from this man, when he specifically says his helath is bad, just proves what a troll you really are. Almost makes me ashamed to be on this board with "people" like you. Fortunately, the majority of the membership offset your ilk. Get a job like the rest of us and pay your own way, or do your own R&D and come up with something better.

I was going to blast HFletcher when I first saw his posts the other day, I should have then, but now I feel it would just be lowering myself to his level. Like Daniel said if there were more like him here I'd be ashamed to be a member of this group.

Terry,

Hope everthing goes well with your medical treatments, attitude is everything. I was doing some searching on repairing the cracks where the hinge mounted to my door and found a lot of information from you, Thanks for all the information you have passed on to the members of this board.

get well,

Caleb

I'm not a "Young lady" as HFletcher put in his post.

Terry, hang in there man, we're all pulling for you-Nick

Mystery Man

I have read many of your threads and you have helped me out in ways you could never imagine.

I will pray for you and your family and please hang in there. I know it can be a tough road but many people heal and live healthy and happy lives. We're all pulling for you,

John

Pucket, I'm not after a deal from mysteryman, my first gens are autos. I

was trying to look out for you guys with getrags, but should have kept my

mouth shut, I guess. When I saw mysteryman fishing for Sachs clutch buyers,

and Leonard asked him if they were original Sach's, and mysteryman came back

with "Why do you ask?" That irked me. It would have been simpler for him

to simply say yes or no but it was too late since he had already

implied they were originals. He had already posted a half page lauding the

original sach's clutch - like that was what he was going to sell -but apparently he

wasn't! Leonard inadvertantly pried that out of him. As I see it, mysteryman's question "Why do you ask?" was an effort to intimidate Leonard and avoid

his questions, but he did let the cat out of the bag, saying he doubted they

were that old. IN OTHER WORDS they were not original Sachs clutches. He was caught, and he's been pleading the fifth amendment since. I say hats off to Leonard!

You see, I remember when mysteryman first came around and bushwacker had to

continually reprimand him for trying to sell things using the discussion

forum. I guess it gave me a bad taste. And then a pouting mysteryman was leaving the forum cause it was so unfair or something - drama! So he was begged not to

leave - more drama!

Believe me, I don't wish harm on mysteryman, or anyone else. I just call

things as I see them - that's all. I agree mysteryman has a lot of

knowledge, and I'm happy that he has helped some of us out. But I've never

asked for mysteryman's help, so his putting me on his list of "those not to

help" is just more "mysteryman drama. " I could care less. He's good at

turning things around - everone is mad at me, now. But it was him who

endeavored to fish buyers for Sach's clutches and then sell something

different - or so it seems - bait and switch?. I guess we'll never know -

he's pleading the fifth.

I'll always wonder if his "friend" needed all two hundred of the clutches

for his "fleet". A number of first genners expressed interest in these

"Sachs" clutches, so maybe mysteryman will post a way for forum members to

contact his "friend. " But I doubt it. Yes, his friend must have quite a

fleet - too bad the forum couldn't have siphoned off a few of them.

Finally, let me confess that I live in a senior trailer court. The

ambulance and paramedics are in here regularly. I've seen many of my

neighbors transported and never return. Without drama.

Niki, sorry!! I wasn't used to the name.

Flame suit on.

LOL, jeez Fletcher easy now. I hate to kick a man when he's down, so I hope this doesn't look like it. I'm sure mysteryman is a very knowledgeable man and I am very sorry for your illness, I hope you recover.

But I agree to a point with Fletcher. Fletch did make some good points on Terry's history on the forum. My BS alarm has lit red many times when it comes to mysteryman. When it was 205 VE's, getrag shift fork sources, (but we only need 10,000 orders, money wired transfered to this account :p , just kidding on that part), then this Surplus clutch deal that turned out didn't help any of us. . just got our feathers all ruffled.

So it's a shame none of us deserving  TDR members could benefit from such a surplus clutch deal. I'm sure they'll be put to good use in the fleet. Forget my boots, man the life boat ;) :p :-laf.

First off let me say that I hope Terry comes thru this ordeal of his.

Secondly, I had no intentions of "flushing" anything out or trapping anyone. . I simply asked because IF they were true NOS clutches I would have bought one.

My son is in the auto repair business and everything I buy I can get discounted, but I'd jump on the chance to buy an early 90s Sachs clutch.

Can we ask the moderator to close this thread?

Jay

Sorry Leonard, I didn't mean to imply you were trying to flush or trap mm. I saw your questions as beautifully simple and to-the-point. I never would have considered asking those questions, because I was led to believe mm was selling original, NOS Sachs' clutches - after his dramatic writeup about them. But when Leonard directly asked if they were original, NOS and mm fired back with "Why do you ask? and "I doubt they are that old - the BS alarms went off in my mind. Afterall, it was mm who had recently sounded the alarm regarding aftermarket shift forks.

And tho mm has time to chastise me, and to dramatize other events in his life, he still won't disclose whose clutches he was considering selling on the forum. The only way mm can silence the BS sirens in my mind now, would be by answering the questions directly asked him in HIS thread. And it would show sincerity if he posted a means to contact his "friend" for the benefit of the members here (if his "friend" and his "fleet" exist). Again, I don't think we'll see any of this info, which suffices as an answer for me!

OK, I'll let this matter go now. I've hammered on it too much already, but I want members to understand that it was not for my benefit or profit - it was for the benefit of gretag owners on a forum I cherish. And I apologize if my manner is coarse, but sometimes when we are too subtle, we don't get the point across. That was happening earlier in the thread, when mm started avoiding the issues, so I pulled the stops. I don't think I'll be sticking my neck out like that again.

I apologize to anyone I've offended, and I do hope mm overcomes his illness. Yes, its fine with me if we close this thread, I don't believe it ever should have been started.
