Just curious if you read other sites you'd swear Rams are junk: http://forums. ford-diesel.com:8080/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000798.html
let's do a survey how many miles do you have and how do you rate your truck on a scale of 1-10 as far as reliability and overall satisfaction
Me I have 7000 trouble free miles and I guess I'd give mine a 9

Just rolled 7K, also just came back from Colorado with a trip up Engineer Pass-13K feet, very rough 4 wheel drive path. Blew by jeeps,4Runners,Landrovers-easily the most powerfull truck on the trail. Great trip-truck ran flawlessly-19mpg on the rest of the trip. Best truck I have EVER owned! Score of 10!!!

Needs a name...

I use my truck for everything...commuting to work, hauling the camper and horses, hauling hay, and hunting in Montana on old logging roads. I just rolled 19,000 miles.
I tell my wife at least once a day that I could not dream up a truck that I would love any more than this one. I rate it a solid 10.

I've got 13000 miles and have not had one single problem. I use the truck mostly for commuting and tow my boat. I've had 3 Dodge trucks in past with not a problem one with any of them. 1-10... . a very strong 10!!!!!

At 93,000 miles, she is GREAT! When I change the oil, it's the same color as when I put it in, and this is the first diesel I've ever had that was like that. I had a 6. 5 rodchunker, and when you poured the new oil in, you could pull the dipstick without starting it or anything, and it would be black as night. Yuk! My favorite on that thread was the guy who said he'd buy a chevy before he'd listen to a 5. 9. Give me a break. #ad
I guess in the Chevy he wouldn't have to listen to anything because it would be broke down on the side of the road. #ad

I put 70,000 on my 95 before I traded it in. I rate it at 8. It had a few electrical problems and I had to keep replacing switches. I have almost 80,000 on my 98. 5. Wouldn't trade it for anything right now even though it is sitting in the garage with a possible dead lift pump. I rate it 9. I'd give it a 10 if it was a 4 door.

I am on my second ISB-powered Ram, and well, I sinple love these trucks. I put 60,000 miles on my 98. 5 in 20 months, and it gave me nothing but great service up until the end when the injection pump gave up. Other than that, the truck was great. Mileage was 25+ on the freeway, and about 19 in the city. I loved the 98. 5, and that's why I have a 2001 now.

I have 5,500 miles on my 2001 ETH now, and it keeps getting stronger every day. Mileage on this one is great too, 23-24 on the freeway, and it isn't even done getting broken in. The Quad Cab is a godsend, and all the features in the truck are well placed and easy to reach.

Honestly, I could not put together a better truck myself... One complain though, and that is no crew cab. Yeah I know, I am a single guy, but having all that extra interior space would be nice.

I bought the truck for the Cummins... Having a Dodge around it was an added benefit.

I give mine a:

34k miles since April 99 and not a single problem. Approx. 15k miles are towing my 5ver of 10k lbs. That truck will pull circles around my old PSD and still get better mileage doing it.

I have 37,000 on my 98. Not one problem. This is my first auto EVER, that's my only concern. Dodge is best truck on road. Never owned anything else, never will!

3000 miles on mine. Little problems like broken console hinge, scratched passenger door window on delivery, and overly tight oil filter. #ad

Larger problem: Steering wander (still trying to get that one solved).
The dealer has been great in responding and fixing the problems. I'd rate the truck at 8. 5 right now. Unlike many others, I'd give the dealer a 9. 5 right now. The looks I get when driving it get a 10!

Traded my 99 auto, which was a great truck for a 2001HO 6spd. This is an even greater truck. Took my son for a ride. He was impressed with the power. Floor it when in 4th and you can feel yourself going back into the seat. Only have 1kmiles on it. Pulled my TT and hit hills without having to downshift from 5th.

I have 58,000 on my '98. 5 (bought it used with 24,000 miles on it in August). It's by far the best truck I've ever owned and wouldn't trade it for the world (I do wish it was a crew cab though). I do have some complaints with it: The factory hitch was cheesy (and recalled), I replaced it with a Class V Draw-Tite. The paint job sucks - chips all over the place and lots of flaws, I will get it repainted in a couple of years. My stock lift pump was dead, unforetunately since I bought the truck - dealer wouldn't do squat because I couldn't give him driveability problems (I have an electric guage hooked up showing the low lift pump pressures - still nada), I replaced it myself. In short I'd give the truck a 9 - the paint being the primary concern. I'd give the dealer a 2 based on my experience with him. I plan on putting 500,000 on my truck, btw. I beat on it regularly including heavy loads (up to 26,000 lbs behind the truck) and hard core off-roading (Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan).

I put 87,000 miles on my 96 before I sold it to my brother. It needed a track bar, (aftermarket good, factory junk) and 4 fuel level sending units. After the TST plate I rate that truck a 10.

So far I have 18,000 on the '00. No problems. I replaced the factory junk shocks at 8K. Brakes are 1000% better than the 96, truck rides good, love the leather, steering wheel radio controls and all the other neat goodies you can't get on other brands. I want real aluminum wheels form the factory! I rate this truck a 11.

Score 10 for my '95. 142K+ miles and the only trouble I've had was a leaking rear axle seal and the TPS. Other problems were self inflicted. GREAT TRUCK!!!! If I ever wear mine out, I will get another Cummins powered Dodge. I will probably be too old to drive when this one gets worn out. #ad
